Title: How much money do traveling back up singers make ?

I am curious to know what do some of the big name choir's make like kirk franklin's group's or Fred hammond.  And how do you begin to be a part of that life.....

My church has three people in the choir and we just lost our pianists a few months ago, i am now taking up piano....but I thinking about singing for a group such as thoughs that i have mentioned....i don't have a degree in music anything like that.....just curious.....I know that I am a good singer and I'm learning slowly but surely the piano

People in the groups for the most part make ZERO. :)  But I can't speak for all but I know alot don't.  My wife use to sing for a pretty well known chior and she siad that she had to pay for everything for the most part from uniforms to hair to even some traveling expenses.

It all depends, if you are singing in a choir setting, ZERO, but if you are in a small chorale you will get a small stipend depending on who you are with and how in demand they are. Does this help any?  Bishop Cole

Yes, that answers my question greatly.....thank you both for your info......I guess that is why you never hear about what they make (traveling chorus members) because there is not much to say.....
