Roc - n - Soc!!! There is nothing like them. They are the best. of course, get a bicycle seat one. Thats comfort. and the great thing is to, you can add a back rest at any time.

God Bless.

the only seat that i would but from dw, that tractor seat is ridiculous, for big or small it is very very comfortable, or jus get a pork pie, you can't go wrong both seats range from $150 to 170

THE PORK PIE ROUND ARE TOO SOFT THE CUSHION IS LIKE A COUCH CUSHION SO IF YOU SIT TO ONE SIDE AFTER A WHILE IT STARTS LEANING A LITLE BIT- I DON'T LIKE THE FEEL- I DON'T FEEL STABLE PLAYING ON THEM

THE ROC N SOC ARE SOLID/STABLE AND COMFORTABLE

THe Roc-n-Soc, The DW Tractor, The Pearl 2000, Tama Ergo are the top ones.

Got that right... Out of all the thrones I've sat on and played on those 4 are the best especially the Tama Ergo.

Sit and try them all and see what feels most comfortable to you. I have the DW Tractor w/backrest, most comfortable for me. Invest in yourself, if you can focus on comfort. Peace

Thanks LGM Fam.  good info as always!
I've been leaning towards the Roc-n-Soc with the oversized
bicycle seat with the back attachment.  Don't anything about
the TAMA.
Also does anyone have the air lift type?  are they worth the extra?
That is what mine used to be, until it broke and would not stay down
unless your sitting.
I need something that would be comfortable for any size drummer,
since i'm smaller but my backup is quite large.  No disrespect though,
he can JAM!!
Thanks for the advice.
Holla back!

my concern is about comfort 2 but the round seats never bothered me i was readin about the roc-n-soc it only raises 2 24" and i sat on 1 at the music store i read about dw air lift they raise 2 29" like im a tall dude 6"2 my throne sits high cause my legs are long and when the seat sit low my knee is up 2 my chest i sit so my thigh slopes down i read the nrx is a taller version from the regular nitro but on musicianfriend they have em at the same height

Hey Tight, I have the older style Tama swingstar set.
I know about tama drums and equip. just nothing about
the ergo thone some have mentioned.  I'm planning on
going this weekend to check out some stuff I need, cymbals
metronomes or drum machine, and seat, but just wanted some
ideas as to which seats to look at since there are many to weed through.
Thanks

yo i dont know bout them seats  like the roc-n-soc an those other ones with tha handle that lets you up or down cause at a concert i was playing on one, and it kept going down, i couldnt stay at the same height throught the concert, it got on my nerves! so i prefer the original ones, like the gibralter morticycle throne, with the handle that you turn that lets you  move, but thats just me....

I forgot to add the DW Tractor I have is an Airlifter. Yes, in my opinion it's worth it. Cuts out having to adjust the seat, just lift and play. Easy access. I pray you find the perfect seat for you.

Thanks Cherri,
I know the DW stuff i've seen is kinda pricey.
How much is the DW compared to the Roc's?

Google can be your best friend to search. If you can go to local  music store and do the Comfort test that's the best thing.

Tractor wo/backrest=$150

Roc -n- Soc=$149.99

Thanks everyone for the info.
Until recently I have not thought
about DW for thrones.  Now I
will have to check them out along
with the TAMA Ergo.  Roc-n-Soc
is what I'm leaning toward though.
I noticed last night in my Gibraltar
catalog, that theirs are made by Roc.
Does anyone have one of these?
Are they they same but with the Gibraltar
name?
Help a brother out, Please
I'm not trying to let the FAM do all the
work, just gthering info.
I LUV this site.  It has been a GREAT
blessing.  Keep up Gods work.

Thanks Sabe!!
I actually was leaning towards getting a red one.
since my kit is a Tama smokey chrome, and the
church is in burgandy and grey, I thought it would
look pretty good.  Also I have a friend that owns a
small music store where I get 95% of my stuff.
He can order the Gibraltar, plus he takes at least
30% off retail.  I'm getting anxious to try these
saturday.  I've been not playing for a couple of
weeks due to an ancle injury playing B-ball.
Ready to get back and apply what I've picked
up from the LGM Family.

Hey Family!
I went to Guitar Center this past saturday and tried out the
thrones mentioned.  The Pork Pie as mentioned was too soft,
but also the Tama was not soft enough.  The Roc-n-Soc was
nice, but I ended up getting one that looked almost identical to
it except the price.  Has anyone heard of Sound Percussion?
Anyway, it is very comfortable, and easy to adjust.  It was marked
at $171.00, I walked out paying $95 flat.  I'm happy with the decision,
and want to thank everyone for their input.

I use/own a Sound Percussion. It is Guitar Center's white label/store brand. By looking at the clamp it looks like Gibralter may have made it for them. I have had mine about 9 months and it is great/comfortable.

It is not quite tall enough for me though. I plan to get a Roc-N-Soc Extended (32"). I need to sit at least 27.5" from the floor for my ankles to move freely. I get by now but 27.5" is my ideal.

haydenka,
I agree the Sound Percussion does look like the Gibraltar.
I looked in my catalog, and it's the same.  As for the Pork
Pie, they seem to come only in the round style and I don't
think a back can be added.  I'm still looking to see if there is
something better, but if there is not i'm still happy.
