I have all of wheat works videos about 17 in all
plus all of jermaine griegs stuff
and jamal hartwell videos
plus I have guitar videos and bass videos george duke videos
the list goes on
In the beginning I didnt get much from them
I am getting much more use out of them now probably because I am more advanced
Those early wheatworks videos were really for advanced players not beginners like I was
My tip and sebastions is that you need to digest the material bit by bit dont just watch it like a movie
but learn each concept and when you understand it and can play it and have worked it out in a few keys then come back and learn the next bit
most of the tapes out there if you take the time with that rewind button will give you most of what you need to take your playing to the next level.
If you have learned from a video or Dvd tell us how you did it
learning is an art form and some of us could use the suggestions on how to learn

I've found that the key is to NOT just imitate what they're doing.
If so, you may be able to play the song that they're playing EXACTLY like them, but that's it.
But take the chords you learn, find the NAME of the chord (they don't always give you the name) and then apply it in a diffferent song, so that you can add it to you vocabulary, as opposed to just mimicing the instructor.
