hey! hope this helps. modes are more than playing a scale starting on a particular scale degree of let's say the major scale. they are actually established tonal centers. but to answer your question, using all white keys:
c to c - Ionian
d to d - Dorian
e to e - Phrygian
f to f - Lydian
g to g - Mixolydian
a to a - Aeolian
b to b - Locrian
-
c to c - Ionian
d to d - Dorian
e to e - Phrygian
f to f - Lydian
g to g - Mixolydian
a to a - Aeolian
b to b - Locrian
Let's put this in scale degree format so you can use it for any key:
Starting on 1st scale degree = Ionian/Major mode
Starting on 2nd scale degree = Dorian mode
Starting on 3rd scale degree = Phrygian mode
Starting on 4th scale degree = Lydian mode
Starting on 5th scale degree = Mixolydian mode
Starting on 6th scale degree = Aeolian/Minor mode
Starting on 7th scale degree = Locrian mode
