Post by: youngmusician09 on April 09, 2006, 02:52:17 PM
Hey, I want to know if anybody knows of a way (or routiine) to increase your vocal range.  I need 2 work with that now that my voice has changed. Thanks

Going up the scale will become your best friend. It will take a while. So don't over work yourself!

yeah, and when you feel comfortable with one key, go up 1/2 step.

.... sing a 1-3-5 progression going up in half steps on Ya.  This helped me increase my range.  Make sure to keep it open in the back of your throat, and RELAX RELAX  RELAX!!!!!!!!!  When you get to the top end of your range it should feel kind of fuzzy, and u probably won't like the way it sounds.  You'll be singing more from your nose than when your in your chest voice.  Good Luck!!

If you are anything below soprano, I just sing songs and sing the next part up, and see where I can go.  Particularly find a song with many modulations.  don't overstrain, but this worked for me to get up to a high alto range
