That was posted here a while back (about 2 months) but thanks for the reminder.
I saw this clip linked to the same page you posted. It is a clip of some guy named Raymond Massey doing a solo while playing with the Wooten Brothers. he is by far no Dennis Chambers...
I don't know what to think... it bored me a bit what do you guys think?

Ah I find Dennis Chambers old school now, I'm just so sick of his playing. It seems like everyones evolving like Weckl, Denotti but he just is with the same stuff over and over.

Yo BBD. He may be old school but I get so much out of what he does.
This is MY PERSONAL OPINION.
Weckl's playing is kinda booring to me. His playing does not move me a whole lot. I respect him for what he does, but i'm way more into what Dennis does because he plays with so much power and dominance. Not to mention that he played/plays with so many different people. All of the stuff that Davey does is in the same line of music. Although Dave's resume is VERY impresive, I'd hire Dennis first because his playing shows that he is more versatile musically.
I'd liken Dennis's playing to a power running back. He's gonna set up the same way, and you know that when he's on the field (kit) you're gonna feel him from start to finish.
Again, this is my opinion. I'm not saying that Dave is a terrible player at all, because he's not. But i do have my preference.

I'm not gonna go as far to say that I can play everything Dennis plays(His 4-way is superior to my own) ... however, I can play a lot of his solo's.
Why?
They ALL sound the SAME! After ten years of the same thing, the wow factor has totally dissipated - and the solo's seem a lot less challenging.
I mean, I can't believe I feel this way about someone that made me want to quit playing when I first heard them.

Agreed!

...you know what's funny. In all of his solo's no matter what he's playing you hear something that's consistent. It's that hihat splash on 1 & 3. ;D
-
i think he said in one of his videos that the hi hat thing is what keeps him in time, so that has to be constant.

Hey guys,
Great clip. Loved it. I love his playing, pocket, ahhh he's sick.

DENNIS IS SICK BUT I WOULD HAVE TO AGREE THAT HE HASN'T REALLY DONE ANYTHING REFRESHING IN A WHILE
BUT I STILL LOVE HIM JUST AS MUCH
-
