I'm listening to it and so far I like it...I'm a beginner but from wat I hear, I like it...not showin' off and all...to me, I fee you're playin' for the music....juss playing some lovely groove and pocket...good stuff man...good stuff..
-
I juss finished listening to it....and I love the track man.....I won't mind supporting y'all CD man...nice song and instrumentation too..
-
Good stuff man. Keep it up.
-
kool stuff! nice and simple!

Some really nice fills but you you need to nail and seat your them better. It got better towards the end. Songs like this you kind of need to sit behind the beat, feels a bit uptight.
-
I enjoy what I am hearing and agree with the previous comments. Whay type of system/music page is in the link? I've never seen anything like it. I would purchase the CD...and play to it too..LOL.

Love the song
It has a wonderful message.
Good intro with the drums
wished you had sat in there a lil bit then slowly built it up to a crescendo with fills at the vamp( he keeps blessing us).
I think the sound of the snare made the song a bit edgy too as the song was kinda laid back with jazz vocals on top
Maybe that how the song is crafted - i don't know
There is no doubt though that you play very well. keep on keeping on.
-
I agree wit the snare statement.....Im not an expert but I think that the snare should have been a different one..
Great playin though
-
I agree with BigBlackDrummer and Zelevo's comments. Nice job overall but the things they pointed out would make it better.
The snare is way to tight/small. A nice 14x5 or 5.5 nickle-plated brass or copper snare would have set it off... even a wood snare with a medium to medium tight tension. This song calls for a more open snare sound played behind the beat. Micheal White, Billy "Shoes" Johnson (Maze featuring Franky Beverly), Sonny Emory (EWF) style.
Keep doing growing man.
-
you sound good to me man, what were you playing on?
-
I enjoy your playing...and I have to second BBD, SABE and Zelevo...Pearl African Mahogany Snare 14x6.5 would sound amazing there!!
God Bless.

Thank you all for taking to time out to listen to the track as well as provide me with feedback. The snare that night belonged to another drummer in the studio. If I remember correctly it was an older Ludwig Brass snare 14x6 that was cranked pretty tight. The rest of the kit was a Pearl Export.

Right material, right kind of snare... WRONG TUNING THOUGH....
Refer to thinking like Steve Jordan before/during a session.... Really make everything about that performance set the atmosphere of the recording. that's one thing that makes him such and in demand sessions guys and producer. Same with Michael White.

I second that!
