What axe do you play with and what do you love about it?
-
Primarily I use a Godin A6 on Saturday nights and a Godin Solidac on Sunday mornings.
The A6 is very comfortable to play and has a great acoustic-like sound.
The Solidac is versatile; 2 humbuckers, 1 single coil, 5 way switching and 6 L.R. Baggs saddle transducers...it can sound like a Les Paul, it can sound like a Strat and it can sound like an acoustic...all that with made in America/Canada quality.
The kicker; the Solidac cost me $250 brand new because it was in the store for years and they HAD TO move it out. Praise God that I was the one to move it. ;D

Fender Strat and Ibenez Acoustic
-
Epiphone SG Special. I love the smooth/fast neck. Even people who have more expensive brands/models say that they would prefer to play on that neck. The action is reall high on it though.
-
ibanez as73 semihollowbody. a bit bulky to sit with, but when you get used to it, the action and playability are great. bridge pickup not the strongest, but the tone is wonderful. when i first picked it up, it felt like it was made specifically for me. all for $299. can play virtually any style.

I have a mexican Fender strat that I love but I recently purchased an Ibanez AS73 sunburnbusrt colored and it is my favorite between the two. It plays cleaner and I get less feedback noise. Its a great guitar for the price. Good playabilty. It is versitle. It's pretty sweet. :D

At church they have a Yamaha Pacifica usa-custom 1 that I play..at home I got a Mexican Strat,and a 1982 Ibanez Artist(quilted mahogany top)..someday I will get a Tom Anderson, in Jesus name!!!lol...

a 1982 Ibanez Artist(quilted mahogany top)
From what I remember, those were very nice guitars.
-
Ibanez GRX40. Came in da ibanez jumpstart pack...but good guitar....2 single coils and a humbucker----very versatile. I can easily go from squeky clean to NASTY(w humbucker) GREAT NECK, Perfect action. Also, low price. I dont NEED to upgrade, but i would like to add either a Fender Jaguar HH, Gibson/Epiphone Firebird, or (most likely what ill get) Ibanez Jetking (mahogany model, not basswood model)

Fender acoustic named- stratacoustic, and a cheap electric from a brand called Arbor. I like the stratacoustic because it is shaped and feels like the stratacaster, and gives great acoustic sound from any amp. I actually like the arbor because it has a small fret board.and i have small fingers.
-
I play a 1981 Gibson ES-347. Besides the sound, the thing I like most is the fine tuning bridge. It's good for making corrections while playing.

A GIBSON, WOW, I PRAY I GET TO THE LEVEL TO PLAY THOSE TYPE OF GUITARS.
I HAVE A FENDER MEXICAN STRAT. I'M JUST A BEGINNER BUT I LOVE MY FENDERS :)
-
My primary guitar is a Mexican Strat. I've used it in any number of professional sessions, concerts, services . . . an American Strat would be nice but I travel with my guitar a lot, so if a $400 guitar gets lost or stolen versus a $1000 guitar . . . it does the job and sounds very good. I also have an Ovation acoustic.

What axe do you play with and what do you love about it?
I only have two guitars (and a bass) so my choices are limited. Between my '97 Lone Star Strat and my '93 American Standard Strat, the '93 is my #1. I've done a few mods to it including the addition of locking tuners, a "series blender", and a MOTO pickguard. Thanks to the series blender and the TBX tone control, this guitar can go from super fat to razor thin. It's hard to make this Strat sound bad. But the thing that I really love about it is the neck. From the very first instant I picked up an American Standard Strat at Wasington Music Center back in 1988, I was hooked. The combination of the 9.5" fingerboard radius, medium-jumbo frets along with the neck's profile make for a winning combination. Interestingly, the Lone Star is basically a hot-rodded American Standard with a humbucker in the bridge, but the neck profile is differnt (over the years, the profiles on American Standard Stats have changed. The earliest exampels had thinner necks similar in feel to an Ibanez).

Chalk it up for another Mexican strat player. That is my #1 guitar,my other electrics are a Yamaha and a Squire Tele. My #1 acoustic is my Takamine G series. I love that MIM Strat, maple fretboard and all,I love playing it,it's a natural feeling.
-
I usually play my Clapton Strat (w/ lace sensor pups), but lately I've been playing my new toy... a G&L Tribute S-500. It has a lot of sustain... the likes of which I thought I'd never get with a bolt on neck(strat). It also has a toggle switch that will give you N-B and N-M-B pickup combonations. The best part about it is that it cost me less than $400. Less than a 1/4th of what I have invested in my strat. I'm sold. It really makes me wonder how a higher priced G&L guitar will perform.
-
Wow . . . I might have to look into that model . . . although I dont have the money right now for a new axe . . . but it sounds nice!
-
I have a squier stratocaster. my father has a red fender stratocaster which he bought used, cleaned it up, and it looks new. he also has a yamaha acoustic nylon stringed, and a vantage les paul model.
-
Gibson les paul, Fender strat 57 reissue or Clapton strat, Dillion 56 les paul, dillion Prs custom copy( Great guitars for the$$)
-
Fender Custom Shop Players strat and a Gibson ES 137.
-
Limited edition Marshall Rocket Special...cheap but sounds great and plays pretty fast, cons are that at higher level volumes i gt some feed back, but it's great in church, i've been told it sounds like a higher end bluesy guitar, and its pretty, its my first guitar and i'll keep her forever
-
My momma always told me not to play with axes because you might chop off someone's fingers...

What is an axe?

What is an axe?
It's a guitar.
Saying "I'm gonna play my guitar" is the same as saying "I'm gonna jam on my axe".
The term "axe" might come from the blues scene when players would "cut heads" which is a term for jamming together and each player is trying to one-up the other guy...all in good fun, understand...but if you're gonna go cutting, you'd be takin' your axe. ;)

I have a Paul Reed Smith Swamp Ash, Gibson Les Paul Classic, Yamaha AES 1500, G&L, Ibanez AF105, Fender Strat, Martin. I use the PRS more than any other because it's so many things you can do with this guitar (2 Hum & Single Coil)
-
me myself i play with a schecter diamond series and also an epiphone joe pass signature series ;D
both guitars are great but i would love to have an american made strat :'(
-
I'm with music bishop here. I have a black schecter omen 6 but I play through a Fender 212 amp. I has a good feel to it and I enjoy playing on it. If the Lord sees fit to further my playing, I will get a PRS guitar ;D
-
Gibson Epiphone ES-335 dot semihollow body and Epiphone Sheraton II semihollow body. Yo I just can't get enough of that warm hollow body sound.
-
I play a 2005 mexican strat, its green. I have been playing for 1 year and most people wouldn't believe me. Does anyone know where i can get some serious gospel guitar lessons in Brooklyn N.Y.
-
Custom Steinberger "P". Mini Vee. Built By Ed Roman in Vegas. For acoustic, I play nylon string. They are incredibly versatile. I've had a few, my latest being a Fender classical.

Those Duncan Performer pickups--i know theyre bout 30 bucks at musicians friend----do you have the Scorchers or the Snarks? I have an Ibanez GRX40 (starter pack H-S-S axe) and im thinking bout putiing a Duncan Performer Buckshot($25) in the bridge(for distortion), a Snark($30) in the middle for shout music, and a Scorcher($30) for normal chords and fat jazzy stuff....whaddya think?
