i enjoy john blackwell's playin because his creativity is dope to me.the beats that he thinks of that he put on prince tunes was dope. like he is so  musical to me.  even though his chops isnt clean, when he play u feel him cuzz his feel is serious (my opinion).

Yes, his understanding of Prince's music is just phenomenal. He's the real deal when it comes to playing with Prince.

I have alot of respect for John. Of course, I dig his playing, but I talking about him as a person. He's been through alot and pulled through it. That says alot about a persons character and drive! Much respect!

Johnny B-well is serious business.  I've seen him live a couple of times and he really tore the house down!!  He gets a little stiff in his playing sometimes, but he really fits with PRINCE and his band.
