I feel you. but I think that if you can find good deals, and go online to like Ebay and some other friendly sites, you may come up on some good stuff. I got a Tama set like 3 years ago, and bought all the cymbals and stuff off ebay and didn't even spend a G on the whole thing... The snare was the only piece that I think would cost a lot, cause the snare in my opinion is the most personal piece of the set you'll have... it'll show your personality... But check online... check some of these sites... Sabe had a lot for me...

Haha...
There are some things you just have to go out and do. You can't wait until you have 3 grand laying around to buy a kit. I know if I hadan extra $3k I probably wouldn't end up buying my dream kit. My brain would drive me crazy. I'd be looking at HRE's for my ride, that new MacBook Pro, I've been wanting to go back to NYC for another vacation, etc, etc, etc.... You know what I mean. So sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do and just get what you want withing your means. Even if it means buying it piece by piece.

BTW THAT'S A NICE SET UP....

Thanks man.  The EC2's are incredible!  They arent as loud as regular g1's or g2's but they have just the right amount of resonant control and they give me more of a "studio-ready" type of sound.

I think Cherri is looking at the auxillary hats on the right and thought those were your main hats. I'm kinda wondering where that question came from, too.

Layaway, Playa. Layaway. I have gotten almost ALL of my gear by putting it on layaway. Especially during college. Nowadays, I have the patience and discipline to budget it in and/or save for it.

But don't go buyin' a bunch of stuff on credit and callin' it a blessin'. In case you didn't know credit card debt is bondage!!!!!! Credit Card debt. . .IS DA DEBIL!! IT'S DA DEBIL!!! >:( >:(

Serious gear there doc! I likes!!!!! Great color on those shells... Ilike that tom setup up though too low for my taste but the order is hot. I am straight digging your chose in plates. Nice ear on the cymbal choices.

Give us the low down on your cymbal sound texture wise. As well fill us in on the Leopard ride. For me that ride requires some jazz skills,  :).

And the big question... is of course, What's the deal on the B.O.A.s because I am really wanting to snag those in the near future but in a double probably.

Thanks man.  I like dark trashy sounding crashes and thats why I chose the legacys.  The leopard ride is not as loud as others but it is very dry, it has a thick sound and hit cuts through music quite well.  The B.O.A.s are very nice for me...its an aquired taste.  Alot of people who play my set say they like them and there are very few who dont.  I recommend them.

And oh yeah, I do have some jazz skills but I never really thought of that ride as a choice for jazz drummers.

I don't think of it a s a jazz cymbal but I feel that because of it's articulation and clarity one really has to know how to play a ride to get the best out of it. To me that ride is unforgiving. It will show your skills or lack there of because it is so dry and defined.

Yeah that was a demo but a finished version is on an album too.  The cd is called Armar'rae Hill and True Foundation.  YPJ did some stuff on there too.  The crazy thing is, I havnt heard the cd yet!  The group is on YPJ's myspace friend list, so you can get all the contact info from there.

Dude your set is the drummer's dream.  What else could you want?  Are you going to expand it more?  I was thinking about getting a Tama swingstar in 10,12,14 what do you think?   The audio clip made a good showing of your pocket.  How do you do that trick at the beginning of your track?   :P

By the way...do you like the pics?

Almost a year ago, and I never did answer your question. Yes, I like the pics. Very nice set up. I also would like to to say that you seem to be a clean and controlled drummer. Your clips are nice, Chief. Keep 'em comin'. Sometimes I just play them and listen while I'm working at my desk. But of course, I always end up watching instead of just listening.

Keep on doin' what you do, and don't let the world flash money in your face and pull you out of God's will.

...I personally think it's time for you to upgrade Sheen.  Go on and get a real kit to go with your real cymbals.  DW is calling out for ya.  Leave PDP behind doc'.  8)

You already know what im going to suggest....YAMAHA..LOL..they have the Maple Absolute for $2200 on Guitarcenter.com.. Its only a four piece though(no snare)...If your not looking to spend quite that much your best bet is...nothing!!!..j/k.. Are you willing to venture out into the market and consider other companies? :) 8)

...Yamaha, DW.  You can't go wrong with those.  If you go with Yamaha, make sure you get your toms 7x8, 7.5x10 and 8x12 across the top.  Stay far away from that evil 9x12. >:(

...If you go DW, make sure you get a good deal. ;D  (Good Luck)
