I recently performed at a friends wedding, and she selected some of the best songs I've ever heard in a ceremony.  They include:


ALWAYS................................K IRK FRANKLIN

MY LIFE, MY LOVE, MY ALL......KIRK FRANKLIN

BEAUTIFUL SURPRISE..............INDIA ARIE

and the wedding party exited the chapel with:

ALL AROUND.........................ISRAEL


What are some of the hottest songs you guys have played or heard for a wedding????

My sister had that song Johnny Gill sung in Madea's Family Reunion when there was the wedding scene. It was awesome because the movie had come out like 2 days before her wedding and here she had the song as she came down the aisle. Us, the bridesmaids came down on a song by Beyonce and Eric Benet from the Best Man. Basically all the songs were from movies...lol.

I really like that song by CeCe Winans called "I Promise". For my wedding I plan on writing a couple songs...now those will be the bomb!

Ribbon in the Sky- Stevie Wonder is my #1 Favorite.
I like Hear and Now-Luther Vandross too (used it when I jumped the broom).

Is it a slow jazz feel with about 1000 modulations in mid verse.....cause there is a song called "The Wedding Song" I dont know who it's by, but it is hot also.

Everyone should check out "You are my joy" by the Kenoly Brothers, "Till I found you" by Vickie Winans and "You Bring out the best in me" by Vanessa Bell Armstrong...just a few i thought were worth mentioning.

   My friend is getting married June 24, and 2 of the songs  are "At Last"  by Etta James and "Nothing Without You"  by Smokie Norful.

Yeah...THE WEDDING SONG is hot, and it's got some progressions in it that are naaastttyyy.  You can't fake that song, you either know that you know that you know it......or you will get lost in it.

I don't know how I missed this the first time around..... but I've written a couple of wedding songs

But at my wedding (and I don't want to confuse anyone)

The bridesmaids entered on Living for the love of you..... The Isley Brothers ... must say it was VERY CONTROVERSIAL... back then

and I came in on a song I wrote called "The First Day of our Life Together"  Which was the theme on our invitations

Stay With You - John Legend (Gotta give the fella who's singing this song mad props...he tore it up at the rehersal :D)

My Hubby came in to Can I lay in Your Arms--D. Lawrence--when my hubby walked in
I marched in to him singing to me--So Amazing (but the Darwin Hobbs version/just like the Luther version, just Christ centered)
Where you usually have someone sing the Lord's prayer, we had D. Lawrence--Prayer of Jabez
Seasons by D. Lawrence during Candle lighting.
We went out on -D. Lawrence--The Best is Yet to Come

Let's just say, that was the year that CD came out and we have labeled it, along with our family and friends, the "Wedding" cd!
