Jerod, LadyWiz, and I invite all food lovers who are at home tonight to join us at 9pm to watch the Cheeseburger Challenge on the Food Network. They have one cheeseburger with 32 ingredients (which Sister T feels is too busy for one burger).
Only the true cooking/food enthusiasts will enjoy...but the invitation has been formally extended. Thanks.

Try $10,000 alternative burger!!!!! And red buns? I kinda knew that one would win because of the "spin" on bun color. That was just too original!
But the burger with the fish in it? YUCKO! And the judge had the nerve enough to say the fish should have been on the bottom to tantalize the pallette.
HOW ABOUT "IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOWHERE ON THE BURGER"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH!
-
I hope Jesus's second coming is around the corner, because I would never think I would see the day where we are judging hamburgers on TV and then reviewing the show on a gospel music chatboard

As much as church folks love to eat, my brother, you should have seen this one coming a long time ago. Especially those of us who love food and/or the preparation thereof.
Cooking is one thing that several people (plus the peachboy) share in common...........if you think this is something, you should hear the phone conversations between me and two other LGM'ers who shall remain nameless.....conversations that can last three hours (and literrally KILL a fully-charged cell phone battery) about how to make homemade biscuits, meatloaf without the seasonings in the pack, the best way to cook bacon and make it maintain its flavor, whose idea for frying chicken (between me, a certain "Bishop" from Charlotte, and a female) is the best..........and God forbid when we just hold the phone and watch them create Hamburger Flavored milkshakes on Iron Chef and everyone wants to speak, but are too mezmerized to do so.
You would REALLY trip!
By the way, o sister of mine..........FedEx has YET to deliver my dang biscuits to my doorstep. And oh brother of mine, my ham & dressing has been on the way since WHEN?
-
In the name of Jesus!
-
Actually, I was cool with the Alternative Burger. And, you're right, the red bun is indeed what put it over the top.

You were cool with the alternative burger made of pork? All I really liked about it was the shape. Reminds me of the hamburgers from Flamers when I went to Atlanta. We need Flamers in Memphis. That was a great burger.
Sadly, I took a big thing of ground beef out of the freezer and was prepared to try and duplicate some of their efforts today but really didn't see anything that "tempted" me to wanna recreate.....other than the red buns........and y'all know that black folks like home-cooked hamburgers on white bread!!!!!!!!! Don't trip!!!!!!!!
;D
-
I couldn't get with any of those alternative burgers...the Salmon burger (YUCK!)...and the one with the avocado-----Double Yuck!!!
None of those burgers will ever be fried in Ray-Ray's Burgers & Chinese Food Resturant! :D
Hey, but for $10,0000 do what you must........ And to win $50,0000 for frying a burger, even better!

Food is a great way to fellowhip among the saints....................Jesus did quite a bit of it...........................
As for the biscuits.......................sometime s FedEx has a way of misplacing those kind of packages. :)

And sometimes LadyWiz can practice what the Bible calls "slothfulness" ;) ! If I don't get a homemade biscuit with some peach preserves on it soon...............................UGH!

Have you ever heard of chesseburger soup?

Forgive her Lord........she knew NOT what she just did.
Divinecalling.........you have likely just opened a non-resealable can of cook-butt! There are a few food enthusiasts who enjoy the pleasures of cooking and don't mind venturing off into creativity. SO......SINCE YOU OPENED THE DOGGONE CAN.............YA WANNA GIVE US A RECIPE THERE LADY??????
LOL (but serious about dropping off the recipe)....

Now, Sister T., I happen to be in a salmon phase right now (meaning I'll try it in different forms). So, a salmon burger wouldn't be so bad. And yes, Peach, I was cool with the Pork burger.

CHEESEBURGER SOUP
2 Carrots
1 Onion
2 Stalks Celery
8 Cups Potatoes diced
3 Cans Chicken Broth
1/4 c Flour
1/2 c Butter
1/2 lb Hamburger meat
1/2 c Milk
1/4 c Sour Cream (Secret ingredient)
1/2 lb Velveeta Cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste
Brown the meat and drain. Set Aside. Chop the potatoes up into small chunks and set aside. Grate the carrots and chop the celery and the onion. Melt 1/4 c of the butter in a large 5 qt pot and saut the onions and the celery until clear. Add cooked hamburger meat, and potatoes along with the chicken broth. Simmer until the potatoes are tender. While this is cooking, take the remaining butter and add the flour over low heat. Stir until thick then set aside. Once the potatoes are done to your liking add the flour mixture to thicken the soup. Stir well, then add the cheese cut into blocks along with the milk. Stir occasionally until the cheese is melted. Right before serving take the soup off of the heat and add the sour cream. Stir until incorporated and then serve. Goes great along with some French Bread!
You will find as you cook this you will adjust the amounts of broth and cheese for your own liking. You can also play with the amount of potatoes and meat to make it a more filling soup.
