I had that happen to me twice. For some strange reason bibles at our church come up missing,like there's a bunch of bible thieves sneaking around and stealing the word of God.One bible was my church favorite,a Thompson chain study bible, and the other one was a pocket bible.Our current pastor's bible was swiped on his first Sunday,with all his notes attatched! He said to the congregation,"If you think I'll preach a shorter message without my notes,boy are you wrong!" His bible came back shortly after.
I spoke to one guy at a bible book store and he told me the worst place for a bible to come up missing is at a bible conference or a seminar! I almost laughed,but he was dead serious.My dad lost his bible at church,a friend's bible came up missing.I know that some may lose their bibles,but too have one stolen just kind of rubs me the wrong way. I mean who would steal a bible? I always wondred if they got to the ten commandments ane read "Thou shall not steal",do you think they would return it? Just wondering if anyone here ever have a bible that walked off.

YUP... I had 3 bibles stolen from me...
Then I went and brought a 4 in one... guess that was too heavey for anyone to carry...
Cause it always manages to stay where I leave it...HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Lucky you! It really rattles my brain when I try to think why someone would bother stealing a bilble when they could go out and buy a nice one with shiny gold on the sides. Then it recured to me,some of them are pretty expensive! I've seen them as high as $100.But the words inside are pricless!

I feel this post!!!!!!!!!!! I had a very nice amp bible, leather, my name printer on it big as day and I went to this church to play, and took my bible in set it next to the drums, (didn't need it cuz they shouted to dang long) (no time for the word, just shouting)
Lol church didn't let out till umm 1130pm went back that morning, (it was a women's conference) and my bible just disappeared, now you no the deacons, who stand at the door to rush every body out, got my bible.
I WANT IT BACK NOW! LOSE IT!!!!!!!

I quess I should say that if they feel the need to steal a Bible,than they need a lot more than I do! But they never get my new ones,I leave them at home. They always get my main church bibles,with all my notes and everything.

Yes, I've been forgetful a few times and left my Bible at church and it never showed up in lost and found :( , I've just learned not to take my best bible (the version I read the most) because I'm very forgetful and would leave it. Although it was stolen from me, hopefully someone is being blessed by 8)
Every had hymnals just up and walk away? I think that's up their with missing Bibles ;)

Katsrate, I have had a bible that was missing for years and a lady that i used to work with..found it outside a bar,,she gave it to me..it was my husband's bible..he he gotten another one..we looked everywhere for that bible..to..someone had stoled it. I guess the word gotten to them so they ..threw it away. Bibles do not walk, they have no legs. :D
One other time..my little bible was stolen from church and i had it announce to please return my bible. From then on..I wrote a scripture inside my bible after that.
Ephesians chapter 4 and verse 28. "LET HIM THAT STOLE STEAL NO MORE: BUT RATHER LET HIM LABOUR, WORKING WITH HIS HANDS THE THING WHICH IS GOOD, THAT HE MAY HAVE TO GIVE TO HIM THAT NEEDETH." I wrote this in all my bibles in big letters in red. I haven't had a problem with anyone stealing my bible since. ;D

Now what gets me is when after their bible was stolen, the next thing out of their mouth is 'Well they must've needed it more than me' HA! Come on now....I'm going to do a CSI if my Bible is taken, because it's not about how much I paid for it, but the notes and highlights I would be missing :D

I took Yahoo off my computer. I am using MSN now for all my emails and IM's. I miss talking though. I might pick Yahoo back up. I had a lot of friends from LGM on there.
Yes people steal bibles. They steal clothes that you hang on the coat rack and your hat. I hope you get hip to the devil before its too late. God forbid....
