Why you crackin' on Stephen Perkins :D :D :D :D? You should hear him play in his band Banyon. This solo here is not erally a good example of his playing.
Ronald Brunner Jr. mentions him as a mentor in his interview in MD. Says Stephen use to loan him DW kits to play on.... and they shed together
Stephen is a very MELODIC player. Kinda reminds you of Tony Williams in that respect with better sounding drums. Though he has displayed Tony chops.

I Figured the title might "ATTRACT" more attention. I really respect his playing, and I did notice that in the Ron Bruner Article. but didnt put 2 and 2 together, til you just mentioned it.
God Bless.

Yep plus Stephen has a tight inner clock. Stephen can groove like nobody's business. I am telling you guys to check out Banyon his band. Great instrumental stuff.

WOW!!! *throws towel at computer screen*

I've been hip to S. Perk since the days of Been Caught Stealing by Janes Addiction. And like Sabe mentioned his inner clock is IMPECABLE. He was the drummer in Tommy Lee's band Methods Of Mayhem too.

Thank you very much. This guy is tight.
