So yes it's that time again to come up with a new idea:
This is the encouragement thread. We will do exactly what it says.....ENCOURAGE. Out of a lot of the threads we've had, we don't do a lot of encouragement. I've noticed that when people are encouraged, it gives them more strength to run on and do what God has called them into. I also get excited when people are encouraging others.
Some Rules:
1) Each encouragement must be a separate post (Can't encourage more than one person in one post)
2) If you are encouraged, you may reply with a thank you and a small speech
3) Do NOT ask people to encourage you....seems kind of desperate. We will get to you ;)
4) You may encourage AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE (as a matter of fact, it's encouraged ;D )
Everyone likes it when they are noticed.....it does something to their day when they know they are thought highly of

Okay, the first one that comes to mind is Bro. C.J. I just want to say that we are all proud of the strides you've made in your life, and in your walk with Christ. Keep your head up and keep striving, I know everything is not going your way right now, but if you endure, God will not let you down.
From knowing you here on LGM, I have found you to be a genuine and good-hearted person. I appreciate your willingness to share the things that you go through, you never know who else is reading and being helped by your testimonies.

I really hope that we can grow past the internet and build a good friendship. My music is my passion and I was impressed that you took my request seriously and helped me to improve my craft for God's glory. believe me when I say check the "thank you's," you will be in there.

Okay, I know I am one friend who almost NEVER calls or keeps in touch, but I want you to know that you are always in my thoughts and prayers (I'm really bad about calling, ask my mom). Sometimes a series of events in someone's life makes us all step back and say "Whoa, how much more can he take?" But I am certain that the God we serve doesn't make any mistakes and that in his "panoramic view" of things, this small snapshot makes a lot more sense.
"Being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you shall perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" Philippians 1:6
My words are few because I know that I can't know exactly how you feel. But I do care, and I am praying, and I hope that you will feel what my words can't fully convey.

VT, I encourage you to allow God to continue using you in the many arenas he has designated you to be a blessing. LGM is just one of those arenas. ;D
Remember these things:
Be SINGLE-MINDED in your Worship. Focus on God not on impressing man.
Be SET-APART. You have been sancitified and are called to be holy.
Be STILL - so that you will know who God is. Sometimes you got to get off the computer and listen to God.
Be an example of a Christian SOLD-OUT to the presence of God.
Be a SERVANT of God.
In other words, Be all that you can be unto the glory of God...it's already in you.

My encouragement is for Nakia. Nakia girl I am amazed at the heart you have for youth ministry and for the youth at your church. They are VERY blessed and fortunate to have someone like you working with them. I encourage you to keep your head up, and know that though the weopon may form against you, it WILL NOT prosper. And the youth explosion is going to be the BOMB!! I just know it! God bless you and keep the faith!! ;D

Your willingness to participate and do a solo meant a lot to me. I would like to encourage CJ. I've read about your challenges with your church, your job, etc. I encourage you take each challenge and see it for what it is. When working through trying times you gain wisdom, knowledge, and strenghth. For any trying situation you succeed in prepares you for the next. And there will always be trials. You continue to make yourself transparent and where others are afraid to speak or choose not to speak about their problems and thier situation..... you willing open yourself up to the ridicule criticism and the comments of others. Because you are honest and you share...MANY are blessed. When I first came to LGM, I never talked to people other than to respond to posts on the message boards or respond when they talked to me. But you were one of the only ones to IM me and encourage me and make me feel very welcome here! That was like 2 years ago!! Your personality is just really bright and you are a true man of God and I thank you for YOUR encouragement!! Many times I have felt like I was the one doing all the encouraging and never getting encouragement in return, but I thank you for always having something to say that got me through my day!! As the song goes, "How can I say Thank You". When you asked me to assist you, I didn't think you were serious, but through our conversations, I'm glad that you were. God has given you an awesome gift, and I pray that He pours into you daily; minute by minute, hour by hour.

Since then, I've found you to be such an example of a true woman of God.
I appreciate your candor, and your ability to forgive and forget, and even to ask forgiveness, these are the marks of a true leader. I also appreciate your sense of fairness and impartiality (even though we know who your favorite is ;)). Whenever I see your name in a thread, I know I'm going to be blessed with a good laugh to make my day, some wise counsel, or something else that is worth reading.

Wow Ness, coming from you that certainly means a lot to me! There is truly a wonderful Spirit resonating through this thread. It's a well welcomed change of pace and very much needed.
At this time, however, I'd just to encourage the LGM Family as a whole, Owners, Moderators, Contributors Frequent and infrequent to continue in the vein of unity, by engaging, embracing and encouraging one another in the true fashion of Christian Love..... something which is so evident in this thread.
Sometimes we only have a word of encouragement to offer our fellow family members...... but sometimes that's all it takes... just one word of encouragement!

I'm glad I caught this before I headed out to church.....thank you so much BXalted! This really meant a lot to me, same with you Praize. You all have definitely made me want to make sure i contact you all whenever I'm anywhere near where you all live. I have grown to have a very soft spot for certain members of LGM and thank you for accepting me during these rough times.
As a small prayer request, I ask that all lift up the Hall household in prayer. My brother was in a car accident a few weeks ago and now my parents were served papers saying the women he hit are suffering from pain and mental anguish.....when there was no scratch on the car and the ambulance offered assistance and said everything was cool...hit me up offline if you want to discuss it more.
I love you all dearly from the bottom of my heart :) You all have been better friends than some of the ones I see everyday in my face who call me their 'friend' Know that!

I want to encourage you. I hold a lot of respect for you as well. You probably like, who in the world is B_XALTED...lol. I will tell you like my mommy tells me, when I think that no one is watching me, that is the exact time when someone is watching.
I always read your threads and you have a real cool spriit. You have been through some things but you are still here, and you are allowing your light to shine. I absolutely adore your honesty and just plain old REALISTIC approach to things.
Please dont ever change for anyone. Reading your testimonies lifts me up... Seeing someone go through similar things as me, and not afraid to let people know and not afraid to let people see the blessings that you got in return... You have encouraged me through how you have handled things...
And now I want to lift you up in encouragement...

LGM is going to go through some more changes, but it will be one of the greatest tools for feeding gospel musicians in the world. that is why it was constantly attacked.
Rest when you can, brother and sister . . . but you are doing a great work.
Sis Redd, the Words GOD has given you to give me have launched me into another level of minsitry. GOD knew it was what I needed to hear, and when I needed to hear it.

Had it not been for LGM we probably never would have met, so thank God for LGM and YOU........through you I have laughed more than the law allows (and almost got caught laughing at work when I KNEW I should've been working instead of reading your posts on LGM).
But the humor is always clean and fun. Since I actually got to know you......I want to teach the choir to do the laffy taffy and drop air conditioners out of windows on da regular.

Thanks for being the epitome of a friend and brother naturally and in Christ. Throughout some of the lowest and roughest days in the "Days of My Life" saga, you have been a strong anchor. You have prayed for me, watched the food network with me and LadyWiz (even though I still say you can NOT outcook Emerill, but opinions vary), and the most important thing to me is that you drove all the way from Colombia, SC to be with the Disciples in Worship :D for the all-original concert....and still remember 90% of my original songs that you haven't heard since February.
The problems and cares of life seem easier to handle with strong Christian people by your side. You, LadyWiz, and Doubles have proven to be just that and I will always have pleasant memories of the fun times, the sad ones, and the times when I have to tune up and get my "preach" on.....but I'll leave that alone - in the key of Bb!

But all of the out-of-town bookings you are getting for Complete Change, and your willingness to come to Memphis to share in the debut are phenomenal. The support you give me when I am ready to just "throw it all in" is impeccable. Most people get hung up on....because if I say I'm through, I'm through (other than with the church that I fail to shake loose...but in God's time......i digress).

DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never met a more selfLESS musician in all my life! From the first time we met during the LGM event in Memphis.....you kept showing me the same chords in Eb until I finally got them...........and that took a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time! When I was writing He Reigns, and asking you musical questions of how to make certain chords sound better or stand out, you were right there (thank God for Yahoo IM).
Then, you came to Memphis on your last just to be there to support me and played for our church choir when the musician did his usual "no show". Dude, that makes you a giant in my eyes.
You just don't know how bad I really want to feature you on a song or two on the CD! You just don't know! But thanks for being you.....and be encouraged! Your reward in Heaven is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo great. HEY! Maybe you can play "Great Things" for the choir in Heaven? Hmmmmm.....wonder if they still need some material! Better get crackin'!

To start off, I am asking the saints to pray for me becaue I am mad at Sister Nessa for beating me to the punch!
NOW...........with that being said, thank you Nessa for being "just Nessa"........the epitome of the true COGIC female! Your positivity and support that you have planted into my life bears fruit even on the rainiest day. And no matter how down I get about my car situation, sometimes I have found myself saying "what would Nessa tell you if she saw you crying and moping like this"..........and I answer myself saying "she'd probably tune up in C#, let you have it, and leave out in a dance"!

The whole ribbing you about peach...... what should you care what "I" think about that. The point was to get you to roll with it and move past it. Life is too short to get all upset at the little things when we have MUCH more important things to do in this world.

Dude, we have had our fights, arguments, and disagreements beyond measure. But all in all I really admire you. Even in the midst of being mad at me, when you heard about the wreck, you ran to the rescue to see if your boy was all right......I knew then that my perception may have been a little off. I apologized then, as I do now.
At first, I was like "the premiere Choir Director of LGM" and then you came.......boy was I furious at first. But there is enough room in God's kingdom to share, which is why I passed the torch to you!
Stay encouraged, though. Few people know the headache we face as Directors. And few will ever truly understand. I felt your pain about thinking that soon they will write songs where we are not needed.....and i really wasn't playing when I advised you to be like me......and just write your own.
Thanks for the post on "what is your favorite song to direct".........dude you woke something up in me that had fallen asleep being the director of the funeral parlor mass choir!!!!!!!!!! I was able to reflect on how I used to feel during and after my favorite song....and no matter how out-of-breath I was, if they started it up again I was down for whatever!
Thanks for that. That was a big part of what helped to birth Complete Change, little as you know! Thanks for the tough love, the fussing, the fights, the disagreements.........through it all, we remain THE BEST TWO CHOIR DIRECTORS ON LGM and brothers in Christ, which is what counts in the end.

You'll never really know how much you inspire me, because I can't put it into words!! When you first came to LGM, I "got" your sarcastic side, because I can sometimes be the same way (even though you were much more intense with it online than I was) ;D
And I remember butting heads with you on LGM so much that many others would try to referee between our posts!! It was all in fun though!! But in just a few short months, you have become a true friend and brother, and I love you for that! I admire you because in spite of the adversities you have faced, whether it be with school, or family, you have never stopped being you, and have persevered, and that's inspiring in and of itself, especially to see a young black man doing the right thing!! Your talent, creativity, and your spirit have inspired us all!

And I remember butting heads with you on LGM so much that many others would try to referee between our posts!! It was all in fun though!! But in just a few short months, you have become a true friend and brother, and I love you for that! I admire you because in spite of the adversities you have faced, whether it be with school, or family, you have never stopped being you, and have persevered, and that's inspiring in and of itself, especially to see a young black man doing the right thing!! Some have shared how they thought nobody cared, or how down and out they were, and to see this come up was like their ray of sunshine! Even if they weren't being encouraged personally, they were overjoyed to see us encouraging each other. I woke up yesterday morning and I kept going to scriptures about encouraging and I just noticed how much in the body of Christ we fail to do so. Friendships are coming back together; broken hearts are being mended; Sorrow is turning into joy! YOU JUST DON'T KNOW.....

Often we worry and fret about the harsh words that we sometimes say in anger or frustration to each other. We feel terrible about the fact that we could say things to tear those who are close to us down.
Sometimes, however it is when words fail us that we sin. What words go unsaid that could build up, help or comfort. They cost nothing and for some they mean soooo soooo much. When we fail to speak these words we error as much as if we'd said something to offend.
Lord we thank you for this thread because it has brought so much joy to so many people. Thank you for forgiving the sins of words, both the things we say and the things that go unsaid. Help us to always reflect on your special love and your unending mercy. We thank you for the words of life on this thread and may each person that reads the ENCOURAGEMENT thread be blessed today.

The cousin to the nephews baby sitters niece best friend next door neighbor twice removed Uncles mother in law baby daddy of God in Christ, LOOPY!. Doc this is the perfect thread for you because you are definetly an encourager. You have inspired me to lift my head a little and to even more be greatful to God for allowing us to cross paths. Dude sometimes I wonder if we have really known eachother for only such a short period of time because I feel like I have always known you Man. You are a good Man of God and I am honored to know you. Your voice is just a bonus. I enjoy the Christ in you and the fellowship more. You have such a cool spirit. You make staying up half the night in front of a computer monitor in the dark with a pair of headphones on, playing the keys so much fun. Dude continue to allow God to use you not only through singing but through an upright lifestyle before Him and those around you young and old. I would love to just be somewhere in the sanctuary on the days that God just consumes you and begins to sing through you. Its during those moments where the instruments arent even neccessary cause Hes all you need. Stay humble bro you are more annointed than you actuallly realize. When you do a duet with Kim or Karen Im braggin to everybody cause its an honor to know you and have played for you. (Hook me up with a bootleg so my friends will beleive me ;) )You have blessed me tremendously. May God cotinually embrace you with His love. God makes a big fuss about you Brother!.. Know that!!!!!

Nakia!! You are great Woman of God.You look like and remind me of one of my favorite cousins. I know that if I ever want to act crazy or silly just to let out some stress, you are the go to person. I can count on you for that. :D I pray that God blesses all that you put your hands to that uplifts Him. Im proud of you. Keep on allowing God to use you. I played it continuously throughout the day, and just allowed the Lord to minister to me, not only about My Salvation, but the gifts and talents he's given me. Thank you so much!

When you started the thread about the Worship Melody not even 2 days after, I began to add a line to the song. As I was typing, the Lord reminded me that He'd already given me a similar song about a year or so ago. What He said to me, will remain between He and I, but I just want you to know that if, for no other reason, God used you for me that night! And the lyrics are superb!
So I said all that to say this:
These 2 young men, unbeknownst to one another have encouraged me, to be yet again faithful to other aspects of my ministry through Him, that I've so neglected.
We truly serve an awesome God!
To the both of you, ironically, in differently distinct and unique ways you have this ability to be transparent, before God and man...
Now I encourage you both to Go higher and deeper ..... in Him...No limits... no boundaries!

Sometimes I have days when I wonder if God still finds me of use to Him. Much of my time is spent dealing with me and my issue's. Yet, God still allows me to bless His people. And, He sends me people like you to remind me that though I am still being washed daily, He still thinks I'm worthy to be a blessing to the people of God. Thank you for the reminder and the words of encouragment.
It just humbles me even more because He could have chose anyone but He thought to use me!

It's almost been 1 month since we recited the sinner's prayer together, and in that time, I have seen much growth in our brother.
Life is happening to and for him, not just adult life, but life in Christ..... and it is a process and an adjustment.
Only God can fit all the pieces of the puzzle together for him, but we must continue to pray and encourage him in his daily walk with Jesus
Often times we, who've been in this walk for a while still don't get it!
As we continue to lift him up, he'll understand better .... by and by :)

I've thought about this today, and I told VT that I would post my decision within this thread.
I'm going to say let's just keep this one thread.
Encouragement is a good idea, but we do not wish to flood the board with multiple threads that contain the same content. If we allow it, where do we draw a line. In other words If I allow it today, tomorrow a disgruntle LGM Member may feel his/her thread is worthy of being multiplied. This particualr thread would be their leverage.
This was a hard decision, but it comes with the territory...I'm looking at the big picture. So I encourage you to continue on, for the truth of the matter is those who want to participate in this thread ARE participating in this thread.

This goes to sjon aka the Grammar Wiz! I appreciate you sir for establishing the grammar wiz to help our brothers and sisters in need of increasing our literary knowledge. I have always been chastised for my 'proper language' and it really showed me that Black people really feel like you are acting 'white' if you speak and type correctly (Imagine that!) As far as the sjon, we had one small issue and rectified it immediately. I appreciate you sir and it's definitely great to see Black men in the school system making a difference. I pray the Lord continues blessing you in the Kingdom work that he is leading and placing you to do in this last and evil time. There is an attack on the body of Christ, but there is one on young people most def, and for you to stand between the works of Satan and young people is honorable and calls for some praying and consecration.
Be encouraged and know that He that loses his life for Christ's sake will find it... Continue to take up your cross and follow him daily...
BTW, you were also the first person to explain to me what ROTFLMBO was all about, Dumb me I thought it was some kinda new denomination...LOL

I have others that I will have to name another night,as it is now 3:31am. I would like to thank all those that have given me a shout out thus far... Thank you and LGM as a whole, for those that I missed and did not name out one by one, The Bishop loves you!!!
And my prayer for you is that you will contine to grow in the knowledge of the Lord, that you grow in grace, that you be in good health, that your soul prospers, that you continue to let the word of God sanctify you, for you are sanctified by the truth, and the Lord's word is true... Holiness is a school where you learn, and those that learn mess up sometimes, but don't let that stop you from growing, learn from it and move on. Tests come to show you where you are, so that you can "study" your weak points for the next one, because it's coming... Study and do your knee training...

I appreciate this encouragement, bishop2. Yeah some of the threads were getting a little ridiculous, but nevertheless thank you. I don't know where people see me as this great choirmaster (trying to remain humble....is it workin¿), but I thank you for this. Music is definitely my passion and since choir directing is the only thing I really know how to master at the moment, I just allow my love for music display that way.

When you are young, sometimes other young people standing up for God are more of an encouragement to you than your own family. As I previously stated about Vtguy, you also make me smile when I haven't smiled much that day. You stand up for what you believe in and Never back down. That alone encourages me to be even strongER. I was talking with someone yesterday about myself... I said that once I put my mind to something it is extremely hard to detour me... Even if it looks like there is no way it will work, I still keep trying until I have exhausted all resourses... I was saying how my stuborness is a great factor in that... However sometimes it can be a hinderance... Because I have a lil pride issue ;D ;D (But we is woking on nat... ;))
This on top of the word my pastor gave me lets me know that a bad decision is just a learning experience and if I never made the decision I would never have learned the lesson behind it...

You are the first mod that I had spoken to personally and it allowed me to understand that you all are people with lives as well.....I had just thought mods were these staunch people just out to delete posts and regulate the LAW (No offense to the mods). You are cool and you keep me rolling with your posts. I'm sure your wife and kids are always in stitches with your humor, and I'm glad that the three of them are able to have such an anointed man of God in their immediate presence. :)

Okay, the first one that comes to mind is Bro. C.J. I just want to say that we are all proud of the strides you've made in your life, and in your walk with Christ. Keep your head up and keep striving, I know everything is not going your way right now, but if you endure, God will not let you down.
From knowing you here on LGM, I have found you to be a genuine and good-hearted person. I appreciate your willingness to share the things that you go through, you never know who else is reading and being helped by your testimonies.

You are truly one of a kind, and one of the very few who still carry the spirit of the "old saints". It's refreshing to see someone hold to the teaching and upbringing that is rooted and grounded in the Word of God. Folks can say what they will, but hold fast to your profession! I often wonder where the next true men and women of God are going to come from, seeing as how a lot of our generation is caught up in other things. But you and others serve to remind me that God always has a remnant!
I've been trying to make it west on I-80 for a little while now, but summer is here and the snow closures are over (we hope) so I feel a road trip in my spirit! I'll be in touch to let you know!

Thank you VT, you've always been in my corner. I remember when you first came in around the time of the 10k thread, you were always very cool, and FUNNY!! Maybe I have a kindred appreciation of sarcasm, because I always found you hilarious. You're one of those people who can come in and just fit right in and never miss a beat (2klub is another one). I would like to encourage everyone to continue offering prayers and kind words to eachother. When I first visited, that's what drew me into LGM. The people here encourage, advise, and uplift people they may never meet here on earth. You are all living testimonies to all who enter LGM of the power of God, and the way Christians interact with eachother as well as help eachother deal with daily life. As long as we're encouraging... (and I'm on a roll)... to the brother who was in the car accident. I am praying for you. God will use this part of your life to give you a testimony which will encourage others. That You all have, at least a few times, said something at some point that has actually stuck with me or caused me to re-evaluate my thoughts or position on a matter which....... Frankly........ is hard to do. I consider myself a "learner" so to actually learn something that will help me grow in this Christian walk, is valuable.

It is commendable that in todays world people like all of you take time out of your personal lives to encourage, bless and spread the love of our Lord to other people. It is sooooo awesome to see so many believers so gifted and talented! I found this website by trying to find the chords to a song F.C Barnes Rough side of the mountain. Now I can't seem to stay away... I believe the Lord said that his taste was sweet. Well... Thanks to all of you that represent, I'm addicted to the Lords candy... How sweet it is... The best part is that all of us are Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus and All of you are making me feel that I actually belong to a family. So many "Christians" today are very SELF involved and don't even have time for their own children much less a stranger on a computer... But here all of you are IN ONE ACCORD! I AM ENCOURAGED BY YOU! Dedicated Servants of the most HOLY!!!! Surely, God is SOOO proud of his children here!!! And I am glad to have the pleasure to share thoughts and Ideas with the Servants, and the Children of God.
