-
WOW!!! that is a beautiful kit...and you are right the natural color is the way to go.
-
thats nice man, do they do different color hardware?
-
Finally!!! (standing ovation)
Nice kit man. I likes what I see.
-
Nice kit man. Love the finish :) and that extra deep kick...I likes! :)
-
SO NICE... I want that set...
-
CLEAN, Doc!
Now One thing... STRAIGHTEN UP THAT FRONT HEAD ON THE KICK. THE LOGO IS CROOKED IN THE PIX >:( :o :........ ;)
-
Ya that was one of the kits I was going to buy but in green and an add on 8 and 14.
-
Thank You all for your responses! I really do love my kit too! cant wait to get REAL heads on it.
To Juse: is your color coming back?
To drumzalicious: Not for this line. I believe they do for the US Custom drums.
But I am definitely contimplating having my hardware Gold Plated! Just for giggles.
To Sabe: yeah, yeah, yeah...haha. I thought I had it straight until I looked at the pics! i guess when I turned the hoop the head moved with it. That is a huge pet peeve (sp?) of mine! I will fix it at church tonight.
To BBD: I was tempted with the Green, but my wife's favorite color is green. So everything in our house is green! it wouldnt have been right. haha.
I messed with tuning just a bit on my Bass Drum on Sunday. I really got the low rumble to produce. Man I like it. I could feel it in my chest. It felt good playing my Birthday gift on my Birthday.
God Bless.
-
OOH,OOH I want one!!!
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! The bling of drums! ;D Really nice set!!!
Congrats again!
-
...I join Juse in the standing ovation. ;D ;D Now, it's my turn. I'll be posting the pics. of the kit at church this week for ya. Stay tuned.
-
What's a beauty !!!!. How much did that set you back in dollars? !!! and how long do you intend keeping it?
-
Nice!! Do it up E-R...
-
Nice I see I am going to have to step up my drum set game.. You guys are motivating me to buy a new set.. which I need.. I am going to do a little research.. Love the set E-R beautiful.. Stay Blessed, Nate J.
-
To Juse: is your color coming back?
Yeah man, my color is finally coming back. Im good. And you're still a member of the Peanut Gallery. Don't look at it as such a bad thing. Think of it as more of a fraternal order of sorts... ::) ;D
-
Dude that set is pretty! Congrats and Happy Belated!
-
Abselutely gorgeous! How does it sound?
-

Uh oh... JFunky is tryin to off me the same way E-R did...
You just might be getting some company in your "fraternal order" E-R...
-
Beautiful set. I'm saving for a roc n soc. Hey what type of lugs are you using on those cymbal stands. They're definitely not butterfly lugs. I like those. I'd like to know what they are called and get some for myself.
-
C1, they sound great! even with just stock heads, and I havent had a chance to tune them properly yet. cant wait to throw evans on them.
Zelevo...I got a steal of a deal on the drums. Kick, 2 rack toms, floor tom, tom arms and tom legs shipped to my door for $600. I will be keeping them for a couple years, I think. Until I get either a Pearl Reference Kit or a Sonor SQ2 kit.
3rd-Day: thanks for the Belated Birthday wish! Appreciated!
FerrariRed, are you referring to those nuts at the top of my cymbal arms? those are called T-Tops. They are made by Camber. I absolutely love them. They screw on to the end of the stand, and allow for easy setup and take down of cymbals...but because of the t shape, they wont let the cymbals pop off. They are great!
Well, since I am still a Peanut Gallery kinda guy, time to really stir up some ruccous.
Ciao.
-
Dont know if guys like words like ''pretty" so I guess i will follow suit and say "yeah dats hot fa sho"
-
Nice. That virgin kick looks really good. The grain finish must look stunning in person?
Congrats E-R!
-
B_XALTED, that word is perfectly fine with me. and that is correct, the kit is pretty! ;D ;D ;D
whats up fre? been awhile talking with ya, I cant wait til my office move is over then I can get back to normal on here. Yeah, the pics dont do the grain justice. Its awesome.
God Bless.

Well good... lol... ;D ;D ;D :D :D :D
-
how are you able to get by with using a flat ride for gospel? for jazz it would work but i know that wne i play gospel, i enjoy havinf the bell there....
-
Hotness...just hotness! Can't go wrong with the natural finish. They match everything.
-
Nice kit bro
-
Thanks Sugabear!
Drummercat, I dont know, I dont really like a bell all the time. I like to add other flavors rather than just the bell. but if the song needs a bell, I have a 21" A Zildjian Rock Ride in my cymbal bag right next to me. With the tops on my stands, switching out a cymbal is a matter of seconds. So, I switch. if needed. However, the flat, is alot more versatile and melodic than what you would think.
God Bless.

For real??? I am not as coordinated as I wuld like to be...lol... I have knocked the ENTIRE set over trying to adjust a tom tom... lol... I haven't graduated to changing cymbals yet... lol...

not with a wing nut (the standard cymbal toppers). I use the t-tops, which you can see in my pictures. It allows quick and easy change of the cymbal. its as easy as picking it up in an angle, and sliding it over the t. there is a felt on the bottom, and since its not held on by a wing nut, you do not need a felt on top. real quick and simple, and since, you are not tightening down on the cymbal with the wing nut, its just hanging there, projection and sound increases in my opinion. not louder, but just better.
God Bless.

are you micd....or do you need to be
No sir. No mics. dont need to be at the moment. our current church is kinda small. the kit fills the room nicely without being over bearing or over powering. Plan on micing for recording and sound quality eventually.
God Bless.

haha. so am i. but this kit really mellowed my sound out. and for me thats a great thing. I have learned how to be more dynamic as well, so I am sure that assists in that.

You could do 2 overheads and a kick and be fine.
Audix F15 overhead and D6 in the kick. Turn the mids up on the overheads and everything will come through

Sabe at it again. So Doctor Sabe, can I run those straight into my mixer? or do I need a seperate preamp, mixer etc?
God Bless.

Nice man. what heads you got on your toms? g2 clears? what kinda snare is that? The kit is sweet isnt it?
God Bless.
-
It's probably a Pearl Joey Jordison Signature Snare Drum.
-
the heads ARE EVANS HYDRALICS. THEY DID ME WELL THAT NIGHT EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE SO THICK. THE SNARE IS A PORK PIE 13X7. MAN THIS SET IS VERY NICE. I RECCOMEND THEM TO EVERYBODY.ME AN MY BOY ARE LIK THE ONLYONES WHO GOT THEM UP HERE IN PA THAT I HAVE SEEN. THATS WHY I LIKE THEM TOO. CAUSE EVERYBODY GOT PEARLS AN YAMAHAS AN TAMA'S. THEY ASK ME WAT TYPE SET I GOT I BE LIKE DDRUMS.
-
Oh man...you gotta take off the hydraulics!!!! Those dont belong on a kit like this. These drums sing nice and resonate beautifully. and all the hyds are doing is killing them!!! Get rid of the hyds. even the stock heads are better than hyds for this kit.
God Bless.
-
yea know i was just tryin them out they got beat up that night anyway. i gotta change them. cause jeff davis was playin on them an wore them heads out. i gotta change them this week cause im prob. goin to use them again this weekend. prob. remo pinstripe or the g2's wat ya'll think bout them aquarian performance or the studio x.
-
EVANS brother. cant ever go wrong with EVANS. they are the only heads my kits will ever see.
God Bless.
-
What's up E.R!
Congrats on the new kit man i Love the Zildjians man
-
I am on my way to get some Camber T-tops to fit my set in the pic to the left (2 in a pack $5/pack) from Fork's Drum Closet www.forksdrumcloset.com . This is the only place to shop when you guys come through Nashville, TN. on your major tours ;D.
-
Whats up Smark? haha. Still a Zil guy at the moment. but I cant wait to try other brands. Meinl first than Sabian to follow.
Hey ferrari, I pay 2 for $3 here where I am at. but still at $2.50 a pop, they are worth it.
God bless.
-
Did you straighten out the resonant head? Have you replaced the stockies yet? ;D
-

Yes. I straightened the head, but didnt like it. so I decided to twist it 90 degrees. Still got the stockies, but I finally had time to tune them properly, and man. I am loving them even more.
by the way, you had a chance to check out the Byzance Darks at D2G yet? They are not available locally, so I kinda gotta buy them sight unseen. Your thoughts are appreciated.
God Bless.
-
I owned the 18" Byzanze Dark, but returned it because it didn't mest well sonically with my Hand Hammered Sabians when I got them on the kit at church.
I would get them with nothing but Meinls... They are excellent cymbals.
-
Okay, I'm going to install the EMAD resonant today... The batter? Probably tomorrow. ;D
-
Would the Meinl Byzance in brilliant or traditional finish fit in more? or are the darks just the way to go? I personally plan on getting a whole set of Meinl, but just a couple at a time.
Have you smacked your bass drum with the EMAD Reso yet? thoughts and feel?
God bless.

I haven't heard any of the Byzance in brilliant finish, as D2G does not have them in stock (they could get them, though). If I were in the market to get an entire set, I would go with the traditional finish crashes (medium thin), the 'darks' and the traditional finish Byzance ping ride (20").
No, I'm going to do it today; I was clowning with my (digital) camera early this morning in the drum room. I also cleaned my cymbals, too. ;D
Peace and practice...
-
Just from looks and sound clips, I really love the Byzance Fast hats. they just seem like what I want. So, I am quite confident about that choice. Thanks again for the advice.
God Bless.
-
Go ahead and pick 'em up - you'll love the traditional finish meduim thin crashes, especially that ping ride. :o
-
Nice kit doc, I've always wondered what the ddrum sounds like? Is it maple?
-
