I propose we use this thread to show one or two of our favorite fills. Something we actually used during services.
If we all chip in, we should all learn something. It would be too difficult to notate complicated fills, but simple ones can provide us with ideas.
The guys in the other forums have a system for spelling out chords and such: LH/RH. In the Organ room: Bp/LH/RH
We have no such system to convey information. I say we adopt our own system. This will enable us to communicate better and share Ideas better. This is just a first draft. We should decide on a system and stick with it, adding things as they come to mind.
B - Base Drum
Sn - Snare Drum
HHo - High Hat Open
HHc - High Hat Closed
T1,T2, T3, T4, etc. Toms, ranging from highest in pitch (T1) to lowest in pitch.
Cr - Crash
Sp - Splash
Fl - Flam
When bolded, a certain stroke is accented.
Of course it would be best to HEAR it to get the feel, but you can play around with it and find a way to fit it in.
Fill1: B, B, Sn, Sn, T1, B, Sn, Sn, T2, B, B+Cr
Fill2: Sn, Sn, Sn, T1, T2, HHo, HHo, Cr, B+Cr1, B+Cr2

I am not a fan of 'tab" systems for drums. I learned notation in the beginning and am striving to get better with it. For me this would be learning something useless. Because I would never really use it
However if it helps folk here do what you do. I prefer vid and sound but we all don't have those capabilities. I myself don't currrently.
I am just a moderator not the be all in all. If I can suggest a better way I do... but I encourage everyone to investigate/study/experience things for yourself.
