Keep in mind that I'm a beginner also, but I would suggest you start with theory. TBlock has a post on this site about forming chords and he breaks it down. LG-FAMILY correct me if i'm wrong, to play the fuller chords you'ld play the 7th, 9ths and 13th chord he talks about. BUT I SUGGEST THEORY first because if you don't understand what you're forming and when to form it you may be handicapping yourself.

An excercise I'm doing now is play 7th chords started from C7 and moving up and down in half steps......with both hands simultaneously. If you do it enough, you'll be able to play a 7th without thinking about it.
