I think I have found a new artist to follow in Joe Locke
-
I have seen him featured in a couple of Drum Magazines, had never heard him. Dude is fresh and clean. I'll do my research. Thank you.

Yeah man. Ima start a band with vibes too. You know... The Fisher Price colored vibes that you get from Toys R Us.... I'm also gonna have my little cousin on my platinum plated kazoo, her imaginary friend Mr. Wiggles will be on her toy Casio Keyboards and her Tickle Me Elmo Doll will sing background vocals....
We're gonna call ourselves Playtime...
Needless to say, its hard to find cats to play with here in town...
I'll have clips of our first rehearsal soon.

The recording "Live in Seattle" is out today, btw.

Cherri, from what I read in this forum you seem to be very resourceful at finding information, but here a couple of albums that Terreon has played on.
Stefon Harris -- Blackout (Terreon Gully is hitting on this album)
Ron Blake -- Sonic Tonic (Terreon Gully and Chris Dave are hitting on this album)
John Ellis -- By a Thread (Terreon Gully again)
I am glad you guys enjoyed that clip...Tank is a beast.
-
....nadworks that is some very nice web work, could have used you to do my business's webpage. Also thanks for the Joe Locke link, i will be buying the album tomorrow.
-
Ah, that's what I'm talkin' about - four mallet playing! Man, I miss that area of percussion (read: everything else outside of playing the drumset). :'(

...okay so this is a taste from the new September 2006 Edition of Modern Drummer Mag.
Christian McBride on Terreon Gully
"Terreon came to my band on a recommendation from Jeff "Tain" Watts. Jeff knew I wanted this hybrid sound, not straight-ahead, not really fusion, funk, or jazz. Our sound is all-inclusive. Coming from Tain, I hired Terreon sight unseen. Six years later, Tain was obviously correct." - Christian McBride
Once again, don't forget to subscribe to Modern Drummer Mag.

He also says almost this exact same thing on the DVD portion of the Vertical Visions album.
Give it a gander.
Oh yeah.... PLEASE subscribe to Modern Drummer!!
