Is it possible for someone who cannot sing and who cannot carry a tune or even on pitch to be able to sing and carry a tune with the help of singing lessons, or is singing something that you have to be born with as a gift?
-
I think it can be taught. I don't know if everyone can be taught, but I've known a few people to get better over time.
-
Exactly Nessa. One of the females who is one of the best leaders for praise and worship is tone deaf, but has had enough training to sound very very good. It can work out!

I want to learn how to sing, but i can't even hold a tune, i scare people, even myself, when i sing! So you're saying it's possible for me?

Now for you¿¿.........
:D :D :D I'm just playing. It can happen for anybody. I didn't know how to sing 8 years ago, and now I'm the section leader for 2 choirs. My parents are not singers, so trust me, it can happen

Man, I can't carry a tune either and I find it hard to believe at my age something can be done (except a miracle from God) ;D ;D ;D

And God is still in the miracle working business. Me? I can saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang ::) lol but I been singing since I was 5 and still am. There are those who can sing and shake the walls........but they don't have no anointing .........but those who can sing WITH anointing.........well STEP BACK.........LOOK OUT NOW!!!!! But they say practice makes perfect.

Anybody can be taught. With enough lessons, I am sure you can be pretty good, also. Just choose somebody who is pretty knowledged in the area.

Yes, you can widen your range. It is just a matter of practicing. Sometimes it can take its toll on you because you are reaching areas you might not have touched with your voice, but you should hear a difference.

It is posible except for that extremely rare occasion when the person is beyond tone deaf into audio musically deaf period. I have only come in contact with one of these rare breeds in my life.
-
I grew up with a cousin, too, who is not only tone-deaf but who has an excruciatingly bad singing voice... :o Does happen. I love her to death, though! ;D
