My church recently, in so many words, told faithful attendants that either they become members or they can go elsewhere! No matter what these faithful members were doing---choir, usher, visitors
What do you think about that?
-
WOW!!!!
NO!
One can not make a person(s) become a member of our Church.
-
I could see them saying you need to be a member to hold a position, but to say "join or get out", that doesn't sound right. :-\

I agree with you on this matter nessalynn77 !

They should ALREADY be a member if they're ushering, singing and other things. Now if they're just visiting and they saying that?.......that's just wrong
-
WOW, things like this is why a lot of people turn away from the church.
In my church and most that I know people in, if you are not a member, you can't sing, usher, let alone hold an office, but you can come to service, bible study, prayer service & sunday school all you want though.
