Post by: porkpiepoppa on August 11, 2006, 01:40:58 PM: im uploading it on youtube right now itll be here very shortly for those of you who wanna see it. i didnt get the whole entire thing his part was about 10 minutes i got the whole thing but it didnt upload correctly so some of what hes doing might not make any sense but he was beastin those drums man imma try to get the end when him and teddy campbell are playing shouting music....

once again i had to SHRINK this so the sound quality is kinda off u could hear the keys and the bass cuz they was GETTIN OFF!!! whoa!!! but yeah thats the clip imma try to fiogure out how to get the shout part up cuz that was life changing lol and if u listen spanky jacked a chris dave beat...

Post by: porkpiepoppa on August 11, 2006, 05:50:02 PM: im tellin yall this is just him warming up he really strecthed out with th four way coordination and chops and groove everything i was like "MAAAAN" then when him and teddy went at it omg!!! i didnt think chop wise teddy could hang(they werent battling they was just playin wit each other) but still he not only was holdinhis own but wow that was a life changing experience i gotta show you the shout with the organ keys guitar bass nisan was goin around pointin at people and theyd solo someonehelp me!!!

mos def the best i've seen spanky play....(when i say best, i'm referring to clean chops, nice grooves, good dynamic control, and different placement than we normally hear)- mos-definitely stole some stuff from chris dave, but who hasn't....my man spanky was on some 6way coordination, cuz he sound like he had some extra hands in there....can't wait to hear the rest...dude is beastin hard on the kit....i was sleepin' on dude...i didnt know spank was doing it like that either!

That was better to me than the 8 minute Tony Royster clip!! The only thing that would possibly put the T. Royster above this one is the fact that you recorded more of the guy in the gray shirt than you did of Spank in the end!!!! lol!!

Post by: porkpiepoppa on August 12, 2006, 02:11:38 AM: ok before people ask it wasnt a drum clinic it was a musician so there was bass guitar and to juse!!! man that kid was ALL in my way man there is a segment where all u can see is the hi hats but i didnt get that on here and when i uploaded it it was like 32mb so ithought it waws the whole clip imma try to upload the whol ething tomorrow hopefully it works the durmmers was spanky and teddy campell nisan did the sound check i didnt get that tho cuz he played like a 10 sec groove(he makes anything sound good i was like man....) but yeah i knew spanky was capable of this idk what all been listenin to lol but yeah he definatly opened up more too hahaha dont worry (Even tho i feel this clip was good enough) i got chall on that next one yall gotta hear the whole thing tho the shout was bananas!!!mike bereal is SICK

I think he has some interesting ideas, but I'm not exactly ready to jump on the Spanky bandwagon. I've just never heard him play in a style like that before. I've never said Spanky was wack(contary to popular belief) - I just felt like his fans over-rated him. That's not Spanky's fault, of course.

Their is so much that he lacks technically. What people like about Spanky is that he is creative and has a lot of flava. I'm ALL for that. That cat has tons of flava! However, I'd probably be a lot more interested in his playing ... if he dedicated himself to expanding himself on the technical end of the musical spectrum. With his creativity ... combined with dedication to really improving technically .... I, PERSONALLY, believe he'd REALLY be something to hear.

He has an interesting approach like Chris Dave. However, what set's Chris apart is that he has knowledge and technique for days on end. Chris is naturally gifted(JUST LIKE SPANKY), clearly .... but, he didn't stop there. That's why people like Dennis Chambers sing his praises. I'm not hating on Spanky - I'm just saying what would REALLY take his playing to a totally different level. That's ALL! If you can find some hate in this ... then you're reaching.....
