This is a scale thet has a flat-2, flat-6 and a dominant 7. I use it over a dominat 7 chord when resolving up a fourth (C to F).
In C it is: C, Db, E, F, G, Ab, Bb, C.
I hope you enjoy using this scale. GOD bless.

Those are also the notes of the F harmonic minor scale: F, G, Ab, Bb, C, Db, E, F

That is correct, but the style of music where this scale comes from is based on a mode and the tonal center is C.

Yeah I hear it as a F harmonic minor kinda thing too.
Like on the jazz tune "Caravan"

I'm new to the sight so sorry to bump up older posts. NE way, I sat down tonight and was playing with this scale. (I love new stuff thanks ;D) Is this a scale to use for spanish/jewish music in the key of c. Do I base my chords off this scale if I were playing jewish of spanish music? or is it just a spanish/jewish sounding run? I'm kind of lost. ?/? ?/? ?/?
