My musician for my music ministry is being honored at one of the 3 churches he plays for Sunday. The ministry is on program to sing, and are supposed to be giving him a gift. I need some gift ideas (money in a card is tacky - to me - and therefore not an option).
What do musicians like?

Give a new instrument.

* Gift certificate to the music store
* Various colored face towels (Very very practical Gift)
* Tickets to a play or concert
* Gift Certificate to Dinner
* Gift Certificate to Barnes and Knoble
* Ask his wife
* Gift CErtificate to a Massauer
* Overnight Boat Ride around the harbor

ASK HIS WIFE WHO CUSSED ME OUT IN THE STUDIO? Yeah, right. But the rest are good ideas.

I may be going out on a limb, but ask him if there is anything that he needs. You don't have to tell him why. I just believe that a good gift is one that gets used.

Well, we pray that the words on the card made him smile and that the $100 enclosed will be used wisely.
Thanks guys.

Well if it had been me on the receiving end, I would've cried at the words, and shouted for the cash!

I agree with this gift.

He mentioned in his "Thank You" speech yesterday that he spends 90.9% of his time in Radio Shack.
So, the members of the ministry who did not attend yesterday's event are pitching in to get him a gift certificate there!
They had 8 choirs on program, but one other choir (plus HD&CC) were the only two guests there! He had a look of disappointment on his face until WE got up to sing and then he looked like he was in hog heaven!!!!!
I had asked him to just sit there and enjoy his appreciation while the other musicians played...but in the midst of directing, I heard the sounds of FALLING RAIN coming from the keyboard...looked over to my left...and sure enough....he was playing! That absolutely made my day!!!!
