Hello Guys,
I've been studying the piano for about 7 months now and I dramatically improve due to www.hearandplay.com. I'm definitely into playing Gospel Music by ear and was wondering if someone can help me come up with some of the most common chords in Gospel music. If you have any idea, please let me know; I'd really appreciate it. Thank you very much
God Bless you all

Do u mean like preaching cords??

No..not necessarily..What i meant was Chords that are very common in many Gospel Songs. I heard someone said that most Gospel songs share the same progressions, same Chords etc... and I think this is the same for Jazz and other type of music styles. Well, i hope I 'm making sense

Example: This is the Day In that song, you use the circle of fourths. ie, in the key of C you would play the major chords for the first, fourth and fifth notes of Cmajor. (1.C ,2.F ,3.G) 1. C E G, 2. F A C, 3. G B D. Remember: This is the basic way to play it. The circle of fourths is common in many gospel songs.

These are some the most commong chord progressions in gospel music. You hear in most songs. I did it all in Db. THe Numbers come from the notes in the left hand. You can put these together and make a bigger progresion or even a song. Also scan throught the pages in the Music Theory Section. Hammondman did alot on types of progressions and theory.
Please excuse any mistakes.
