I posted these tabs a long time ago. Copied here since we now have a tab section.
Try these two from Fred Hammond......
You Are The Living Word
We're Blessed
Fred is an extremely accomplished bassist, but these two have fairly simple parts. As you "feel" them, there's a lot of room to add your own flavor. Tabs below assume a 4 string bass
This is the basic flow of "Living Word"
G-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A---6----3--5------6----3--5------6----3--5-----2-3------------------------------------------
E-----------------------------------------------------------5-6-3-4--------------------------------
And this is the opening phrase of "Blessed"
G-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D---------------------------------------------------------------1-------------------------------------
A-------------------------------------------------------3--1-----------------------------------------
E----4--3--1-----4--3--1------4--3--1-----4--3-------------------------------------------------
Hope that helps get you started.
Peace,
James

The good thing about tabs is they tell you where to place your fingers on each string.
The bad thing about tabs is they don't help you with the rhythm or timing, so you have to pretty much know the tempo and beat of the song going in.
G-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A---6----3--5------6----3--5------6----3--5-----2-3------------------------------------------
E-----------------------------------------------------------5-6-3-4--------------------------------
In the above example, your first note is played by playing the 6th fret on the A string, then the 3rd fret, then the 5th fret, etc, etc
More complicated tabs will also tel you where to hammer on ( 3H5 means play the 3rd fret, then hammer the 5th fret)
when to slide (2 \ 5 means play the 2nd fret and slide to the 5th fret)
when to play ghost notes ( X )
and other advanced techniques.
Hope that helps.
Peace,
James

I added a sound clip of "You Are The Living Word" that pretty much follows the tab.
