I think the answer is 4.

With the reminder that I'm a music teacher and NOT a Math teacher AND the fact that I think you're missing a word or two in the original question:

1/10 x 1,000 = 100

1/5 x 100 = 20

1/10 x 20 = 2

2 + 2 = 4

There, you have my work.

To be fair, when I first answered the question, I had not shown my work. And, I am still recuperating (literally and figuratively) so thanks.  ;D

I wanna give it a try, but I don't understand the question. Did you mean to say one tenth of one fifth of one tenth of one thousand? If so, I agree with Sjon. Here's my work. note: 2/10=1/5

(1/10)(2/10)(1/10)=2/1000

(2/1000)(1000/1)=2

2+2=4
