Title: new bassist
Post by: ldr1971 on September 23, 2006, 05:51:40 AM
I am a new bassist.  I know all of my notes, chords, scales, and I play by ear.  But I don't understand the "tabs" that you post.  How do I read those and how do I apply them?  I've been playing keyboard for 10 years but I just started bass about 6 months ago.  Thanks in advance!!  LOL

basically man you just have lines that represent the four strings and the first string represents the low E string and the second from the top is the A string  and so on.. then the numbers that are on there represent the what fret you should put your fingers on only thing this isnt good for is if you havent heard the music to it you dont know the ryhthm to it and you dont know the time signature good luck!

actually is would be 3 line from the top would be an A it looke like this.

G--------------------------------------------------------
D-----------6---7---7-------------6---7----7------------
A------7--------------------7--------------------------
E----------------------------------------------

in note this would be           E G# A A  E G# A A,   Which is the Beginning of Stand by Me- by Ben E. King
