Hey everyeone,
Here's a clip from our ministering trip to Cambridge, MD on Saturday. This is the second song we did:
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=1250294329
PS: The drummer there decided to play with us and the sound system (IMO) wasn't balanced enough to hear the vocals clearly.

I LOVED IT. YOU WERE OFF THE CHAIN....
Even with the audio issues You sounded very professional and very, very good.

Thanks for the encouragement, gambit!!! The guitar player (Paul) came up with that bassline. He is awesome on guitar and is also 1 of my influences.

Who's church was that at? I think my sister might go to that church...she goes to church in Cambridge. I wish I would have known about it if it was an event, I live in Salisbury which is like 30mins from there.

Sound good it was not the drummer who messed up the vocals,it was the bass player playing with to much volume
Other than that sound tight and solid. Just Bad EQ

Lemme explain what was going on ... currently we don't have a drummer ... one of the drummers at that church decided to play along with us. You could be right about my bass being too loud (i'm usually the total opposite though :D ... "turn it up some, I can barely hear you") ... you definitely had to be there to understand the whole sound system in the church ... IMO they don't have the best system for the size of the church (which has not long ago expanded 4-times its size since our first visit there) ... example .. during P&W at that same service, I could hear the instruments/music loud but the praise leader was barely heard/understood.
That's also a lesson on why it's so important to do sound-checks before hand. I'm participating in my job's talent show tomorrow. Today was the dress rehearsal and also opportunity to set everyone's levels. One probably they had was with a particular band. They were the only ones not willing to plug directly into this box, which feeds into their sound system. They wanted everyone to do that to help set the levels and also so that the sound quality would be equal when they create the DVD of the show. Everyone sounded really good once levels were set, but they were quite different. The singer/bass player and the keys were hard to hear, the drummer was ok. The singer/bass player was trying to "scream" thru the mic cause he couldn't hear himself. If he did what the techs said, then he could hear thru the monitors. It was even harder to hear the bass player do his slappin'. We'll see what happens tomorrow. :)

Bass player had too much volume? :) :) nahh not at all. LOL. It could have been louder.
Yea yea I know it was too load but there is a difference between being too loud and over bareing.

Turn your volume down you should not be over the rest on bass. It make you sound muddy and turn people that's listening to you off.
It will cause havok on Mic. Back the volume down a little under the Lead Guitar, also Keep in mind.
Higher volume you can here everything from your hand movement, bass brushing up again yoru body, string noise from your hand movement oh and Mistacks.
God Bless, my sister and your skills are on target. So do not let your high volume cover up your skills.
Oh, turn your sound up when you listen to this clip you will hear what I'm talking about.

I'll post the better production of the same song from tomorrow's talent show. Hopefully I won't have a prob pullin the video from the DVD once they're made ... we're doing two songs tomorrow ... keep us in your prayers ... we are believing Jesus that souls will be ministered to in that gov building auditorium. :)
The bass won't be too loud then :D :D
thanks MusiQ ... wow musiQ, i've never seen you on the bass forum ... you must come by more often :D

again ... we were not playing in our usual playing place .. neither did we have time to sound check ... my bass is usually alot lower then it was there ... again ... folks usually ask me to turn UP my volume ... cause i'm always conscience of not wanting to override others, I tend to have my volume low... I know what you were hearing ... thanks for your advice ;)
