In your opinion what would be the best head to pair up with a B410 neo avatar cab
Lets keep it around 700-800 dollars, but feel free to recommend something in a higer or lower price range

I'm using 3 different amps. A Hartke 5500, a Hartke 3000 and a Yamaha BBT500. At that price range, you have a lot of options. I recommend a high power head though! 500w and up. I like the looks of the Yorkville XS800H 800 Watt Bass Head for $759.99. I'm also feeling the Gallien-Krueger 1001RB-II 700/50W Biamp Bass Head for $749.99!

I have only played this head in the form of a combo, I like it, I want one. A lot great power, good tone and at $600 how can some one not just take a look at it?

I knew I was forgetting something! Nice pick!

I think that might be my first head. I like it, I like it. Some one loan $600..... ;D :) ;)

It appears that Avater does not offer 15 inch cabs.. Interesting.

I recommend a power amp/pre-amp setup. I play through a Samson SX1200 power amp (1200 watts bridged into 4 ohms) and a BBE BMax bass pre-amp. I find this setup to be very versatile (although a bit heavy). I payed about 300.00 for the power amp and about the same for the preamp.

I was thinking about this too. not anytime soon I'm mean later in life.

I've been eyeing Avatar's 2x12 cab.

This is what I'm going for. Eden WT550 with 210XST and 210XLT ;D (this is someone else's rig from the eden forum)(http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c350/buffordbass/210rig2.jpg)

You may want to grab a hand truck to go with that. :D
I did see a dude though one time he had his whole rig on a hand truck. He rolled it into the function and played with it still on the hand truck. He had an SVU so all he did was lay everything down in the trunk without ever taking it off the hand truck. Now that was smart.

Actually that would be a downsize and upgrade for me. I currently lug around a 1x15 and 2x10 cabs that way a ton. And plus, I'm not putting out as much wattage and tone that this cab will do for me. So my main purpose for this setup is to downsize to 4x10s but in seperate 2x10 cabs for smaller venues, but gain more power and better tone quality.

I feel this head deserves to at least be looked at.

You're right, that's a lot of amp for the money. I'd look for a used piece. Then for $500 - 800 you're in the SWR Bass 750, Eden WT800 range. I'm not a fan of spending money on new equipment. There is just too much to be said for getting the same thing for half the money and I'm betting you're not going to hurt your equipment if it has that much headroom.

If I recall correctly, I think that Avatar used to sell Ashdown heads also. Call 'em and ask them. i'm sure they could recommend some good matches.
-
Man, I just sold my set-up, I had an Ashdown MAG-200, with a Hartke 4x10, TOO much to lug around, I am thinking about going to the Hartke 3500a and maybe a couple of tens and a horn like an SWR or sumthin, but it will all have to wait until I get back to the states!!!I can't wait for July, peace!
