What Up Yall good folks?
Someone ask me how long should someone sit out for the discipline of a Praise and Worship Team Member?
I thought about it and told the person that I would not be in a hurry to put the person back in that position that they was fulfilling. I think they was looking for more of a time frame answer...I did not have that.. so Can you help?
The situation is...one of the P&W members decided to go to their High School Homecoming Prom.. The Truth is...No Saved Person has not Buziness going to any PROM-DANCE-AND anywhere where you know in ADVANCE where the atmosphere is not God fearing.

Huh¿¿ ?/? ?/?
The prom is one of the biggest moments in a child's life. I wouldn't want to miss it for the world.
Your argument about going into places in advanced where the atmosphere is not 'God fearing'......Well we don't even need to leave the house if that's the case, and even still....that's not guaranteed to be a 'safe haven'.
We are Christians because we spread the light amidst darkness. We need to stop having 'light parties'....take the instance of two candles. If you try to light a candle that is already lit, the flame does not get any bigger. However, if you light a candle that has not been lit.....it not only lights the other candle, but it keeps the same glow (It does not lose any power). I go to work and I work with a bunch of non-Christians and people of another faith. That doesn't stop me from going in and making money.
IMO.....I think you need to apologize to the person for sitting them down. :)

You have to be kidding...
Vtgut is right. Everywhere we go there is non-fearing God people: Supermarket, Guitar Center (crazy people there), JC Penny, and even to the park.
Almost everyone in this site has gone to places where people don't care about God, so what your saying is that everyone should be sat down?
Then that includes me and you.
:)

Yes, gaman, I agree with the other posts above. But your question was about the time length for sitting out. I once asked someone to sit out for 1 month. This person was on a team that sings every Sunday, so that would be missing 4 times. (The purpose is for the person to evaluate their assignment, get more Word, etc.) I asked her to sit out because she had a serious deficit in committment. When she would come to rehearsals, it was 45 min to 1 hr late, and she would just waltz in with no explanation. She wouldn't communicate her inteneded absences, wouldn't return my phone calls to explain her behavior. She'd call me on Sunday morning explaining that she didn't know if she had the outfit we were wearing that day, and on and on. I gave her a letter advising that she needed to sit out for 4 weeks. She put the letter on my seat and walked out. Pastor said I could have released her permanently when she showed that kind of disrespect to me as the director of music.
I didn't release her at that time. I let her come back after 4 weeks, but she later backed herself into the same situation and was eventually released.
