Title: DDrum Snare
Post by: shall176 on October 23, 2006, 11:03:37 AM
I am thinking about purchasing a new DDrum 7X13 maple snare through a friend.  I have never heard or seen one though.  If anyone has any info one them, or any pics I would appreciate it.  I can't seem to find anything about them online, and local stores don't carry them. Thanks

If E-Dubb hasn't sold them all yet, they were a limited edition Prom for that price, brand new they were only $149.99 so I hope your boy ain't trying to hit you in the head, but their worth it maple shell, Die cast hoops, the throw offs a little cheezy and of course the stock heads suck but for $149.99 it's worth it

How many have you sold 12 or 13, I think you need to send me part of your next commission check or give me 50% of the deal!!!! j/k

there's no REAL information about the snare drums on the site.

he don't know me, but i have one. and i love it. it's 10 plies of maple. mine is the hardtail blueburst. it's kind of a aqua to green fade and back. it has black nickel plated hardware. the snare is go-geous!! and it has a nice tight sound. i don't mean tight as in choked. but tight as in crisp. i would say it's well worth the money.

dude, who buys a snare and PLANS to keep the stock head on it?

Oh, I didnt look for a snare. I bought the kit...and I opted to not keep the snare. sorry.
The kit is nice, but I am happy with my snare and dont really care to try another at the moment.

You'll be surprised...

There are even those (like me) who, at the time of purchasing, can only afford the snare & not extra heads. Then in 6months time we still forget
to change the heads. ::)

i guess i'm just naive and thought all drummers was interested in getting the BEST sound from their drums. i'll be sure not to make anymore assumptions about that on this site ever again. . .  :-\

...and, lets not generalize, either, pdpguy!   fretai03 even said, "There are even those (like me) who, at the time of purchasing, can only afford the snare & not extra heads."

sticksnmypocket even stated, "yeah I wasn't even gone to this pdpguy, but that was a stupid statement on your part, I sell equipment everyday to people who don't think to change heads or simply can't afford to purchase heads at that particular moment..."

Happy posting!   ;D

Yeah I got the first of my three kits from them last week and the heads suck! Im going to have to put in over 100 to rehead the kit. But yo I traded my maple ddrum 14x51/2 snare to a friend for a Joey Jordison (I wanted it)...he changed the heads and put on a 32 strand strainer (I told him to do that) and yo it is sick! He call me and said "How does ddrum do it"!

Eyah, I have the same one, the green and blue. The factory head does stuck. But, the snare is heavy believe that, I got the Evans EC Reverse Dot Snare drum head, but tuning it is difficult, but it's a very good buy.

The moment I looked at the Hardtail Blueburst fade with the black-nickel chrome hardware, I was in love and the $150 price made it a done deal.  I like, dwhitta had to play around with this snare a lil more to get it tuned to the sound that I wanted.  But once I get it there.... ;D ;D ;D ;D   Currently using Remo Ambassador heads

For the price, you can't go wrong with this snare...
