Listen my fellow drummers theres a diffrence between an anointed drummer and a guy that can just play the drums. lets stop being guys that can just play the drums. its more than just playin we have to really seek GODs face and learn his word. dont play around with ur gift, dont be cocky the best drummers are humble drummers to me. wat do yall think? oh

I agree totally you do need annointingto be a musician for GOD no doubt about that!........ I dont kno but i dont know if the mods would like this cause this could escalade and someone post something like "ARE YOU ANNOINTED IF YOU PLAY FOR A CIRCULAR ARTIST?" but thats just what im thinking maybe not but just wanted you to kno cuz it has happened to me!!!... OOOOOHHH YEEAAA!!! WELCOME TO L.G.M.!

I believe the word you were looking for is "secular". Unless you were talking about obese or overweight artists, then "circular" I could maybe understand.

Wrong! The fact that you have been given the ability to play means you are anointed to play....God gives us the freedom to choose if we are going to serve him with it or just use it for our gain! Gain is not bad but if you do not serve God and also work in his kingdom that's when gain becomes wrong!

Wrong. Ability and Anointing are not synonyms. Having the ABILITY to do something doesn't mean you're ANOINTED to do it.

Yeah, I think that the ability would be a gift, and that comes without repentance. Anointing, I believe, can only come from the spirit.

"Ability" & "Anointing" are most definitely different things. However, making comparisons about secular & church drummers doesn't make sense.

my two cents i think an annointed drummer CAN be felt like they have a different like feel... but at the same time does that mean dennis chambers is annoited??? cuz hed prolly play that same song WAY better... so i dont think being annointed has to do with ur gift its morely ur relationship with god.. and someone said somethin about being humble and cocky i met.. steve gadd EXTREMLY humble does that make him automatically annoited? i mean im confusing myself tryna figure out the differences between being good at drums and being annoited its like two totally different things

i'll add that you can be annointed and NOT play under/through the annointing... so the BIGGER question is if you are are allowing yourself to be continually in position to OPERATE IN your annointing... or is it just stagnant (splng)
2- ability/talent doen't equal annointing- i have the ability to jog pretty well but... you get where i am going
3- hopefully this can ESCALADE.... i like those trucks :P :D u were looking for escalate

Ability is not skill. Ability is empowerment to act. Ability is realized, skill is developed from evolvement and execution of the act itself.

i see nobody really answered da question... i'm an anointed drummer, not perfect and not da best "yet" lol, but God definitely uses me greatly in all aspects of life but its something about him usin me in my music ministry, it's truly special, and man can't tell me different...God Bless!

If you are filled with the spirit YOU ARE ANOINTED by God....I had some time to think and what I posted before WAS wrong! If you are filled with the spirit you play under the anointing that's why an anointed drummer sounds different then one not under the anointing! If you are filled with the spirit you play under the anointing that's why an anointed drummer sounds different then one not under the anointing! Yes I can play secular and be anointed, do we speak in tongues all the time everyday or at certain times!
Thanks for your opinion. Some Folk believe that if you are not "annointed" You should not be in leadership or playing in the music ministry. if you are not annointed you break the flow, and are not able to break yolks.

A true spirit filled worshiper can feel the difference in their spirit!!! Even non spirit filled people can feel the difference!

I'm annointed, it's weird I find that in church I can play real good, but out of church I can't do certain things that I can in church.
Could be just in my head.
