Yes, he is pretty well known in the bass community. Sad thing is not so much his accident that took his arm but that we never got a chance to hear his excellent playing with 2 arms! It's been said that he was already a phenominal player!

I just got a bass two weeks ago. That's the kind of stuff that makes me practice more.  That cat on the piano didn't help either.  Now my wife is really get on my case about these instruments ;D
