I got green spots on my A custom and I know its oxidation or somthin like that, but how do i get rid of it and how do i prevent it from comin back. Most importantly, what causes these ugly marks?
-
you got it right...its oxidation, but its not that serious i know its ugly but cymbal cleaner will take care of it and just buff it out real good and the only way to prevent it is jus to clean your cymbals on a regular basis if you have time

Cleaning will remove it BUT the green oxidation means that the finish has been comprimised. It will come back . Clean you cymbals on a weekly basis. Always wash you hands beofre you handle them.
Probably the biggest culprit is moisture in the air from humidity of air conditioning. Go to Wal-Mart etc and buy a product called DAMP - RID and always kep some in the room wher you keep you drums. It absorbs the moisture out of the air. You will be surprised by how much water it soaks out of the air. Coasts about $8.
