Ok I have a quick question. I am working with a choir that is not really musically trained. However, I am trying to musically train them and get to the point where we can sing in parts. We have about 8 members and I am wondering about how they should be seated for singing. Our choir stand has three rows of 5 chairs and people just kinda sit where they have been sitting for years.
I know that the typical arrangement of a choir would have altos on the left, tenors in the middle, and soproanos on the right, but I am a little stuck on how to work this one out. Please advise!

Wonders if this is obvious enough...

Keep it the way it is. Tenors are best left in the middle. Altos and sopranos have a hard time singing next o each other, especially when theay are not good singers. Also put the best singers in the middle.
