I got the DDrum 7 X 13 snare I bought a powerstoke 3 for it, but having bought the snare side head. I plan to get it this week, but I cant get my tuning right on my snare. can anybody help me out. anybody in h-town

I would get something as simple as a REMO coated Ambassador or an Evans coated G1, or maybe an Evans Power Center. Regarding the snare side, remember that the tone comes from this side of the drum (along with the tension of the snares and number of snares used, too). If you are looking to upgrade from the stock snare side head, I'd get the REMO Ambassador or Evans Hazy 300.
My suggestion: Snare side: tight to extra tight; snare tension medium tight. Batter side: medium tight to tight.

...my brother, you have just officially killed that snare. A Powerstroke 3 drumhead for that snare is a "no, no". (slaps wrists) ;D
...as stated previously, it's as as simple as a Remo Coated Ambassador with an Ambassador snare side or an Evans Coated G1 with a Hazy 300 as the Reso. I would tune the "Snare Side or Hazy 300" to a medium tight to tight tension. If you tune it extremely tight, the head could give away and you would be very upset. Remember to always proceed with caution when you are tuning brand new drumheads to a tight or high pitch setting. The drumhead is still new and has not been stretched out or broken into yet.

Coated Emporer or Emporer X on top with an Ambassador snare side... a Diplomat will give more sensitvity but may sound a little thin on the back beats.

The Emperor X may be a little too much drumhead for that shell. IF you are going to go with REMO, choose the Amabassador or Emperor. For a more open tone, get the Ambassador. For a 'thicker' tone/more focus, get the Emperor. The Ambassador snare side will do well for each suggestion. Also, I would consider upgrading those stock snare wires to the Puresound Custom 20s or Puresound Twisted 20s.
If you are a hard hitter, and want to go with the Ambassador, just get a couple of heads - heck, do that anyway so that you can change your heads regularly to keep a fresh sound.
