I was raised in The Metropolitan Area (D.C., MD & VA) and most of my exposure to percussion was there. By this, I mean I mainly heard LOTS OF Go-Go. I was wondering, how many of you drummers were influenced by and/or import this particular style in your playing?

Dude. Go-Go is where it is man!! That stuff is hard to find in KC. Hip me to some stuff!

And welcome to the drum room.

Yeah, I remember a couple of months back there was a discussion here about Beyonce & someone mentioned something about Go-go in her music.
So I had to do my research on the Funk & Gogo (sub)genres. I'm glad I did cause Go-go is off the chain.

Yeah, that style is nice....Many people placed the Gideon Band(A.Spears) in the Go-Go category.

It seems that it's a nice style, but not very popular outside of the Metro Area.
