Title: Help a brother out!!
Post by: Tyrill on February 24, 2007, 06:45:28 PM
I've been playing Keyboard for 4 years now and Im trying to crossover to the organ.
Any advice on chord building/foot petals playing upper and lower boards would be a
blessing.

start playing on one register for starters, play ya closer to closest inversions.....always remember the organ isnt a piano, so ya have to remember to hold and not tap! play ya root in the foot!

I think he means basically mean keep your chords as close as you can, and do do any major chord structure jumps.

Get the book "Modern Chord Changes to Favorite Hymns"  In the text all chord voicings are spelled out for you. The left hand, Right hand and bass pedal for the organ.  There are over 30 selections with some very nice and advanced chords with bass accompaniment.  Practice them and you will be just fine.  Purchase @Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble.com.  Peace!
