Title: Zildkian K Cymbals
Post by: cloud9mission on March 16, 2007, 09:29:32 PM
Im using these K crashes at the moment (18" and 16") and they seem to ring on just too long. I'll hit a crash in a fill sometimes and its still ringing a bar or two later obscuring the rest of my playing. Its almost as if they are too resonant for their own good. Perhaps the sizes are too big for Gospel music? Ive obviously spent a lot of money on them being Ks and I was wondering if there was a way to improove this? If not, anyone got any recommendations?

Wow they do? I would suggest the K Custom crashes then the are mostly fast crashes the have a very quick dekay and their very bright but still with that classic K darker sound! I played original K's before and I love them. But I wouldnt know because Im not really sure what sound your looking for based on what you said. ?/?.. ;D

Get smaller crashes, or crashed with a designation with the nomenclature of "fast".  I use a range of 16", 17", and 18" crashes and I don't have that problem.

That should read, "...or crashes".

K Zils are inherently washy cymbals.  You might want to look at other lines in the arsenal.  Like the other cats are saying, look into the other lines (fast ects).
