Title: Music Styles
Post by: hornets222003 on March 24, 2007, 08:47:52 AM
I'm a bit new to the Learn Gospel Music forum, and I just wanted to know what types of music you guys play.  Is is strictly Gospel, or does it venture into the Christian contemporary world.  This will give me a better understanding of the guys who are on the site, and what I can bring to - and take from the table.  Thanks a bunch guys!

Welcome hornets.

I've come from a CCM background. I've sinced moved into the Gospel world & feel more at home (musically) in this genre.

I'm still very much involved in CCM where I live though. It's all they know round here.

I play it all man.  From hardcore bebop, to big band, on thru to r&b/funk fusion.  Gospel/praise and worship/ccm are in there too.

Versatility pays the bills doc.

I have played gospel(contemporary and traditional) , r&b, hip-hop, pop, jazz(fusion, traditional, contemporary, and big band), reggae, world music, rock(hard rock, and heavy metal), and even a little country.

In some ways, it's all relative.  Every style has taken something from another.
