Title: Voices
Post by: B_XALTED on March 28, 2007, 08:28:45 AM
Hey all, I have a question, what is Bravado? Is this a common form of harmonization in Praise Teams? I was told that praise teams arent supposed to concentrate on individual voices, i.e., Soprano, Alto and Tenor. I was told that they are to follow the lead, if there is one, and concentrate on harmonizing with the tone of their voice. How true is this?

bra·va·do
–noun, plural -does, -dos. a pretentious, swaggering display of courage.

Bravado has nothing to do with musicianship. It has to do with the attitude of the musician.  ;)

Yo SJon, I am not the one who said it... LOL.... thats why I was asking. I have never heard that term in relation to musicianship at all. And based on your definition, being pretentious is not the type of musician I want to be...

Of course they meant vibrato...

That was Mr. Grammar King's little jokey joke...

Vibrato is the little wobble that you get when the leslie speaker spins real fast...

Most choir directors either HATE it or LOVE it. I personally don't care for all of that jaw shaking noise myself.

I'm w/Sparrow.  It's aight SOMETIMES, but the WHOLE SONG... ::) spare me.  It's like this new "jazz-spel" sound that's so popular now.  You don't need to run EVERY syllable up & down the scale to prove you can sing.  It gets irritating.
