...this is my man Billy Kilson. He is one the guys that inspire me to find myself and to just stay true to music and the craft. Showmanship, musicality, phrasing, technique, funkyness, all in one doc'.
Billy's Clip (http://youtube.com/watch?v=siqOB8JmFEw)
Sidenote: juSe....I'm so glad you told me about Alan Dawson doc'. After watching Billy, I'm a believer.

...man, straight up.....that was a great Solo. This joka kept the crowd interested. This was just like one of Papa Joe's performances. Did yall catch the facial expressions??? Wow!!! :o That last lick was ridiculous. ?/?

I am definitely growing more and more respect for Billy Kilson. He is with a great band. They really let him stretch it out.
-
Wow!!! This is one of the best solos I've seen. How long have I been sleep billy kilson is bringing it!!
-
Cool - Ima check it out later!
-
Funk! Man, this was much-appreciated clip. One of the few added to my idisk.

Welcome to the party folks!! He got his name by playing for Dave Holland (the bass player ;D) and he KILLED that gig. He's been in MD times since about '03.
In this solo, he reminds me of a clip that I saw of Papa Jo Jones because of his showmanship. In case you didn't notice.

...I'm stuck on this cat right now. There are two guys that have my undivided attention; #1 is Dafnis Prieto and #2 is Billy Kilson.
...By the way, Billy has a CD out called Pots & Pans. I'm gon' get that ASAP along with Chris Botti Live DVD. I must own this performance.

....dawg, I'm ordering that book. I went back and read Billy's last interview on M.D. I didn't know Dave Holland fired him. ?/? It's funny because a lot of people say that the drummer that replaced Billy is in his same mold. lol Billy stated that till this day he doesn't know the reason why he got fired but he figuered it was because he was getting too many gigs and Dave didn't like that.lol What a stinking joke. lol

Thats the business man. You never know what band leaders are thinking. It bees that way sometime. The good thing about it is that he isn't missing any cheese by being out of a gig.

I took note in his last MD interview that confidence in the mastery of the proper knowledge and practiced discipline makes him play the way he does. NO FEAR, NO REMORSE. I admire that. Berkly grad whom embraces the trials/test/challenges that elevate him an music.
We all should learn from him.
