Nobody mentioned Reggie Young or Andrew Gouche?

Now, you took the words right out of my mouth.

Andrew Gouche
Reggie Young (He's my fav and I hear a lot of him in T. Tribbett's playing)
Reggie Parker (Who can forget about Hezzie's famous four-string player)
Joel Smith ( a lot of people really sleep on him as a bass player)
Kevin Stancil ( he lays down a heavy groove)
Chuck Rainey ( this dude is completely sick)
Chris Coleman ( just hearing some of his compositions and knowing that they were composed on the bass makes me want to play with him; even though I haven't heard him play yet)

Sadly I would not really care to play with any "famous" cats, they are no better than the typical musician at church.  Most of them are usually in the right place at the right time and get discovered.  But to me, alot of these cats in church are way more polished and up on their craft of music.  So give me a regular church bass player than has been playing for some years over "a name" any day.

OMG this list is never ending. Bass guitar is the one thing that can hype me up to do my thing on the kit. So I'd have to go with:

Tim Reed(From My church...so sick nasty!!!)
Elijah(One of the baddest in upstate NY)
Justin Raines(No explination needed)
DW(Timothy Wright's son and Bassist)
Maurice Fitzgerald(Nuff Said)
Marcus Miller(Slap King)
Victor Wooten(This guy is just nuts with his techniques and grooves)
Tom Kennedy(Dave Weckl's bassist, watch his solo on drummerworld of the "chicken"

and last but not least the guy who gave all of the above their jump start...JACO PASTORIUS
