My opinion... It's better doing it the other way around.

Let the drummer know what is required of them so they can adapt to whatever band you have.
That way you're not going out of your way to change the whole band for the drummers sake.

In a drummer, you should look for humbleness (if that's a word). Like most other people, if they talk about what they can do, all the lick, more than likely they'll play out of pocket. With that being said, also look for pocket.  You will also need someone that's willing to learn. You have alot of drummers out here who eill play what they want to play, not focusing on YOUR GROUP'S style of music. You can never go wrong there.

God Bless

I THINK YOU SHOULD LOOK AT IF HE HAS TALENT, ANNOINTING, MATURITY, AND A TRUE WORSHIPER AND YES WILLING TO LEARN ANYTHING AND PLAY WHAT THE SONG CALLS FOR. I PERSONNALY THINK THOSE ARE THE MAIN THINGS TO LOOK FOR!!!  ;)

YEYE, I THINK THE DRUMMER'S ATTITUDE AND THE WAY HE CARRIES HIM/HER SELF AS A CHRISTIAN MATTERS. YOU MAYBE ABLE TO PLAY LIKE GERALD, BUT IF YOU HAVE BAD ATTITUDE I CAN'T WORK WITH YOU. THAT'S HOW I LOOK AT IT.

That was well said but I think everybody is forgeting a important quality.  SOLIDNESS!!!!   If a drummer is not solid it is hard to feel him whether it he is saved or not saved.  Don't get me wrong all these qualities are things I look for as well, but when you are looking for a drummer in other venues besides church being saved really doesn't matter cause once the gig is over then you don't have to hang around that person if you don't like that individual not being saved.
