My daughter took her drum machine from me so whats a good drum machine i can get that easy to use and change fit for church songs. I had the aleisis drum machine..is there a better one out for less then $200.00? Thanks.

Alesis HR 16 on ebay... Good drum machine...small, decent sounds, programmable.
-
Agreed!
-
Did you mean Alesis SR-16? Alesis did make an HR-16 model but that was back in the late 80's.
I'm using an Alesis SR-16. I like it okay, but it doesn't have enough usable patterns for me. I don't have the patience to try and program new presets in.
I'd recommend the BOSS DR880 (when I get around to it I'm going to purchase one for myself). It has 500 preset patterns and 500 user programmable patterns. It's almost $500 but I'm sure it's worth the extra cost.

I didn't even see that LOL. I meant the SR-16...I thought about the Boss DR-880 and may still get it sometime this year, maybe they have something new out by Xmas and I may get something then.

You are correct. I meant the SR not the HR... sheesh, I am showing my age.... 8)

Bronzee, please let us know what you think of it when it arrives. Do you have any way to record audio clips to your computer? I'd love to hear what this thing sounds like. With all those preset rhythm's you probably have everything you need to keep a beat right there.

how much did you get the 880 for? it's killer ,but $495 is the price i'm seeing.be blessed
-
I got it for 425. at the guitar center..I told the guy I didn't expect to not pay more then 200. bucks..for a drum machine. he said he would knock off the price for me and he did it. ;D. I wanted to trade in my s90 for the fathom roland..he only wanted to trade if for about 300..so i didn't.
Rms..i haven't even opened the drum machine box up yet..i have had it since saturday..i got a razor v3 phone and its driving me bananas...so i will get to it soon. ok?
by the way I seen a smaller version of the aki mpc 20000 drum machine they only wanted 499.00 for it.

There is no such thing as a good drum machine. In 5 years they'll be asking which "organ player simulator" they should buy.
Support your local musician. ;)

Technically speaking, that's already been around a long time. With all these great arranger keyboards out today and the ability to compose MIDI files, you have a band in a box. Not too mention, sound tracks, which have been around longer than I have.
I don't think this discussion about drum machines was intended to replace an actual drummer. However, when you're practicing at home or doing your own personal recordings, a real drummer is not always readily available.
