I had never seen and barely even heard of Sonny until I bought this DVD a couple of years ago and man every sense this guy is one of my favs.

Does anyone know what kind of drums and what kind of wood he might be playing on??? God Bless.

That's an old school Yamaha Beech Custom kit in Pearl Yellow finish. The snare is a 14x5.5 Yamaha Manu Katche snare.
His sound is awesome. Jeremy Haynes used to rock those Beech Custom's aswell.
