To me, Ladell is a gospel legend. His playing is consistent throughtout all the records he's played on. That Strength video is the most annointed gospel concert I have ever or may ever witness. I've been watching it for about seven years now and I'm still hear new things that the band did that night!! The band was locked super-tight!!

Yeah I gotta agree.  Ladell's playing is consistantly consistant!   ;D  His playing is absolutely solid and confident!  From him, those are probably the two biggest attributes that I have applied to my playing.  Gotta love that guy!  He never lets you down!

Yeah, His pocket is a very big attribute to his playing!! I remember him taking me over his house when he was still playing with John. P. Kee, he knew I could play but he would never let me fall out of the pocket... I was only 5 at the time but now I appreciate all of those things he taught me... And like Sheen said I try apply the consitancy he taught me in my playing today!!....

He played with Usher for a minute. I remember he and my brother got kinda tight after an AIM (COGIC) convention here in Houston. He was playing with Karen Clark-Sheard then. Right after that, he started playing with Usher. I saw him playing with Usher on some music awards show around that same time. I remember my brother saying that L.A. was having a hard time with that gig because he knew that's not what he was supposed to be doing.

It was good to see him with Mano and Sharay on that CeCe DVD. That band was ridiculously tight.
