Hey people. Need some advice on stage set up. Ok here are the demographics..
1) 30 ft stage left-right and about 10 ft back
2) Band consist of 1 keyboard player, bass, drummer and 2 guitar(1 lead & 1 acoustic) and 2 singers..
3) the keyboard, singers and lead guitar come out of house/main speakers.. Bass and acoustic guitar have seperate amplifiers. Drums are not microphoned.
I play for a youth ministry about 20-30 teens. we play upstairs from main sanctuary. The room 90ft by 50ft.
(Problem)
We thought(musicians) it would be best if the drummer were in the middle of the stage but the singers went wild because they also are in the middle(too loud)...another thing i heard and often see the bass player and the drummer together is that a coincidence(spell check) or is it suppose to be that we.....advice is greatly needed.....thanks

You always want your bass and drummer side by side. They're are the ones (at least they're SUPPOSED to be) who keep every song together. They're the ones who keep the beat consistant, and uniform. Also they should be tight with the tempo! so allow the keyboard player, and guitar to do whatever to enhance the actual song!

David if all possible, buy yall some plexi glass for the drums to put around and then you can move him back in the middle where they really belong, AND then you can mike the drums, which really need to be miked if you have everything else miked. This will continue to give you your professional "BAND SOUND" that mostly all church are using now! AND THATS A REALL RAPP FROM THE BISHOP!! ;) Bishop Cole
