Anyone checked these out yet? I've been thinking about picking up the first 2, to get me started on the drums in my spare time.

THERE'S A LINK TO A BUTT LOAD OF CLIPS FROM HEAR AND PLAY DRUMS IN A THREAD WITH THE SAME TITLE AS THIS ONE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE. CHECK IT OUT. WHEN I SAY THERE ARE A LOT OF CLIPS I MEAN A LOT OF CLIPS. MAYBE WATCHING THEM WILL HELP YOU WITH YOUR DECISION. I KNOW SOME MAY HATE TO ADMIT IT BUT THE CLIPS SEEM VERY HELPFUL.

Very true.
The one noticeable CON for me is that you can see the lack of theoretical knowledge behind BAM...
well... either that or he went out of his way to stay away from addressing sticking & what not in their correct musical terms.
It reminded me of the discussion here on LGM regarding gospel drummers & our general lack of theoretical knowledge.
But we can't deny that these vids ARE helpful. It has certainly helped me with a couple of "licks" etc...

Maybe he was making it " Easier" for the less experienced players out there... I see what your saying about his word choices though..... I wish he would have taught the sticking also because even though he made it easier by slowing the fills down he was still confusing because he didn't explain the sticking of the fills... 8)
